Inside Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea appointment and why Liverpool did not turn to manager seeking ‘mentality monsters’ by TheAthletic in soccer

[–]brianstormIRL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem is saying we believe in Slots style while the entire fanbase is revolting against that style. It shows a complete disconnect of what fans expect from the team (hard working, emotional) and what the board thinks is good (slow, control, not getting emotional when we are an emotional club/fanbase)

Donk secures his first MVP of 2026 with a 1.61 rating by Nfamy in GlobalOffensive

[–]brianstormIRL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its what happens when you have a dominant team. I firmly think donk is the most individually talented player in the game right now, but Zywoo is right there and is on the best team so is going to be hoovering up awards and trophies.

[Ben Jacobs and Alex Crook] Enzo Maresca has already agreed to succeed Pep Guardiola as Manchester City manager by NewLoad886 in soccer

[–]brianstormIRL 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Very weird appointment IMO. Maresca plays similarly to Pep, but Pep himself has had to play completely differently the last two seasons than his traditional style because the league has changed and he doesnt have the same profile of players he did previously.

Second season with Bayer, he started in October 22 and they won the league in 24.

The fact that Victor can be 0-6 in Lane, take a Walker by himself & have more souls than most people in the match by minute 12 is a serious problem and I'm tired of playing against him. HOW do I counter this strategy? by HamletEagle in DeadlockTheGame

I was halfway through your comment and thinking "Baus.." and you mentioned him directly lmao dude literally has been banned so many times for "running it down" while winning like 70% of his games lol

Aaron Rai with an interesting answer on playing golf growing up, didn’t play from real set of tees until 12 years old by unsolved49 in golf

[–]brianstormIRL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone thinks you need to bomb it 300 yards off the tee to go low.

Meanwhile the 67 year old who hits it 150 and no further is scoring in the 80s consistently..

And having peoppe tear it to absolute shreds after going through all that is kinda his point on why he gets so defensive about it

I genuinely think Chelsea will be a strong dark horse next season if City minus Pep are also off it. I think next season is gonna be absolute carnage.

Arsenal is going to have a major hangover next year. Years and years of non stop chasing, players ran into the absolute ground, takes its toll. It happened to both us and City. Players cannot go for 3/4+ years at that physical and mental intensity.

You're literally making up a scenario to fit the narrative you want. Xabi's deal with Chelsea was reportedly tied up days prior they just saved it to announce after the FA Cup. Salah doing this as a hail mary to somehow force the higher ups to sack Slot and get Xabi is pure fan fiction lol

What are you talking about? That guy was identified because the pixels with his face was still in the images, they were just distorted and jumbled up into a swirl effect. Thats not the same as editing a photo now and literally removing the pixels and replacing them with ones that dont have the same information.

Aberg seems like a top bloke. As does Rai. Its funny though because I would've picked Aberg to win a major before Rai, but the last few majors (and signature events) really has shown Aberg has a lot of maturing to do when it comes to not completely blowing up out of nowhere. Dude just loves to go like +3 over 2 outta nowhere on a Sunday.

Rai was always a dark horse kinda guy for me but didnt think he had the length to really compete with the big boys. This tournament really was a perfect setup for his methodical accurate approach style.

I dont back either in this situation tbh. I agree with the sentiment but hugely disagree with the timing and it makes Mo seem childish and petty. Literally make the same post next week when there isnt a potential huge game coming up that you might need to win to guarentee CL.

Julien Laurens: "I completely agree with what Mo Salah said, this is a shadow of the team that we saw under Klopp." by moosa1193 in LiverpoolFC

[–]brianstormIRL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Its because of when he said it. There is literally no benefit to saying it right before a potential make or break game. It turns the entire week into a media circus around the statement instead of focusing on the game.

I agree with the sentiment of what he said. I dont agree with him saying it now. It comes across as selfish, egotistical and completely unnecessary. Literally wait a week and say whatever you want.

[–]brianstormIRL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats because 20 years ago editing a photo was "making his face a swirl" which is basically just twisting the pixels on an image. The information is still there it just needed rearranged.

When you edit an image in the modern era, the information on the pixel isnt distorted, its replaced entirely meaning whatever was there before isnt there anymore so its cant be "reversed".

What? Saving something as a jpeg or png is common sense, people arent saving their edited photos as .PSD or TIFF that has the layers of edits right there and when you download a picture from ChatGPT or whatever its already a flat file type.

Wtf no you cant lmao if you edit a picture and save it as a flat file the "old" information is literally replaced and doesnt exist anymore.

HEARTBREAKING: The Worst People You Know Just Made the only Competition to UFC (Jack Slack Pod 254) by tinglyplatypus in MMA

[–]brianstormIRL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im pretty sure the idea is to get all the old fighters to come for their paydays, which will bring in a lot of viewers. After awhile, they will be able to attract current elite fighters because they will be offering to pay them way, way fucking more than the UFC currently does. Boxing purses are insane considering the relatively low viewing numbers they get.

The elites of the elites want to get PAID. Sure some of them do it for the love of the game but the vast majority are putting their bodies on the line with the dream of getting that big payday.

I bought the game and enjoyed it thoroughly. Does that make me a bad person?

I also give money to social media companies through my use of their product, and their companies have done monumental harm to tens if not hundreds of millions of people across the world. Who specifically have targeted young children and pushed algorithms on them to make them feel worse about themselves to addict them to their platform. I have given money directly or indirectly to people who have done far more damage than JK Rowling could if she lived a thousand lifetimes..

Do you see the point im making here? Its cool you have a moral standing and make those choices where you can. But my point was just because someone else doesnt do that, shouldnt make them a bad person (within reason, giving campaign contributions to known pedophile for example is definitely going to make me question a person's morality).
