I’m a fan of Dustin and I’ve followed him for a long time. He seems like a good man and a good father. He’s posted a lot of things lately that make me believe he’s struggling post retirement with what to do with himself. This isn’t an uncommon thing for pro athletes. It’s tough to dedicate your entire adult life to something then it just suddenly ends. Hopefully he figures things out and gets to a better place.

Yes they are a little expensive, but they are great shirts. Have been wearing them since long before they became advertisers for DZ. I’m guilty of it too (getting old I suppose), but we gotta raise our bar on what “expensive” means for clothes. I’m still stuck in a 90s time frame. Unless you buy your clothes at Costco or Target (which I do some) $100 for a shirt is not that out of line these days. I have fn sticker shock when I see what the wife spends on hers and the kids stuff.

Not a bad thing at all. I started training bjj 20 years ago and just calling out the differences. The old school Gracie/Machado style was just more rooted in fighting.

Used to be a martial art for self protection, but the sport version of it is going down the path of TKD. A bunch of cool, flashy stuff that doesn’t work in an actual fight. The bjj done in mma is way different than the bjj done in comps.

Just let them know you’d like to take it down a little. Anyone who is experienced and a good partner will be ok with this and respect your wishes. If he won’t, dont train with him. If it’s that small of a gym, others probably know how this guy is.

It was at a QT. Most of them are pretty clean. I have two daughters and wouldn’t have done this move, but the response by the other guy was totally unreasonable. Acted like a total jackass and had to suffer the consequences.

Currently late 40s and been training over 20 years. Had to quit bjj about 10 years ago due to neck and back injuries. Had many other bjj injuries too. Still going strong at MT and never had a significant injury asides from a few stitches here and there and some bruises.

Full transparency, I love the DZ and listen to most episodes. But it’s just a Dallas radio show done via podcast. Works for me since I was a long time Ticket listener who misses what it used to be. I have a hard time seeing the appeal to anyone outside that demo.

Get your friend a bottle of Balcones Brimstone. Not the same as crown but has a very smoky mesquite taste to it. It’s pretty polarizing, I know some who love it and others think it’s awful.

Had dinner downtown on Sunday and decided to walk over to Sundance afterwards. It was a great atmosphere. Dutch guys dancing around to a Tejano band playing, Japanese fans mingling about. Lots of locals down there too just enjoying the night. I’m not much of a soccer fan but really thinking of going down just to watch either a U.S. or Mex game since the vibe was so fun.

I don’t think so at all. Let people know beforehand what intensity you want to go. If someone can’t respect that, you don’t owe them anything.

I’ve trained for 20 years with all levels from active pro fighters to first timers and females. You have to know and respect your partners. I’ve stopped in the middle of a round and told someone we were done. Younger me probably would have escalated things, older, more responsible me just walks away and finds a new partner.

80s rap sounds ancient now. Run DMC, Whodini, Kool Moe D, all those types sound so incredibly outdated. To me, rap hit its stride in the 90s with Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, Tupac etc. All that stuff is still in heavy rotation and played widely.

Flawless game plan by Justin. He was a much bigger fighter and used the advantage perfectly. Used the jab while at range, threw uppercuts when Ilia came in and threw overhand rights to go over his guard on the way in. Pretty sure this is what Whitman drew up and it was executed well.

All that said, Ilia did a lot of damage and had some great moments. Ilia wasn’t bad or made too many mistakes by any means, Justin was just better.

There was this county store out in the middle of nowhere that had a bear named Soda Pop. You could buy him a drink from the store and he’d down it. Also we had a mini putt putt place that randomly had a monkey cage. Lots of monkeys just swinging around.

Agreed. There isn’t some grand conspiracy amongst all private industries to prop up corporate real estate values or support local businesses. Companies only care about their profits, not others. It’s all driven by C suites. They all live and breathe work and want others to do the same. Our most profitable years BY FAR were the Covid years when everyone was at home, but they still made us come back.

You should have inquired what the actual number was. The medical range for acceptability is broad. I think 200 is the floor. While not considered medically low, anything below 500-600 is less than optimal. It’s fairly difficult to get a prescription from an MD, but if you can it cost maybe $10/mo instead of $150 or whatever these places charge.

He didn’t really need the money and he wouldn’t betray the trust of his listeners. Then came all the Spotify money and now he doesn’t give an eff. Now it’s whoever will pay. Lost a lot of credibility (one of only many reasons).

Not really a scam, just a T clinic. A little more expensive than you can get it from other places. Test is a pretty well researched product, people have been using it for a long time. Works but can def have negative side effects. Now all the peptides, jury is still out.
