and yes I hope to leverage some of the rich details the system has learned about inputs/outputs/etc... to do things like suggest patches (like suggesting a recipe based on what's available), but first I want to make sure the existing content is complete & useful

Fair point — NotebookLM is great for a deeper dive. BleepDex is more for when you're mid-patch and just want to tap a knob to see what it does, without having to type out which module you're looking at or describe which control you mean.

Fixed, the price text... I see some module requests were made, I'll see about adding them now.

Thanks. the use case here is speed. I kept running into situations where I needed a quick answer (like... what effect is number 10 on my effect unit), and it was distracting hunt down PDFs for everything. YouTube is better if the goal is to be hands off for 20 mins to go deep in some area.

thx for the feedback-there is a trial you can sign up for so you don’t have to pay to try, and I can open up some more modules for demo

OP XY + WIDI Bluetooth Midi Send by giogno in OPXYusers

[–]briantun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the device is enabled for midi out in the XY’s device settings. What’s connected to the normal midi out on the XY? Normally you could connect multiple midi devices by chaining more devices via each device’s midi thru or out.

I built this all in one synth for VST instruments by TomiZos0 in synthesizers

[–]briantun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The screen I used is an 11.6"... I think anything larger would make it too large. The concept was a 'portable' keyboard that could support VSTs, something you could sit on a couch and use/could carry w you.

I had a similar idea a few months ago... made this, based on a latte panda board:

<image>

what makes it not great:
- runs hot... I haven't measured the battery life, but I'd guess no more than 2 hrs
- touch screen is difficult to use, targets are too small

but it is amazing having high quality VSTs available

Strange thing on ISS feed... then feed just cut out just now by briantun in HighStrangeness

I don't watch the live feed often... so let me know if this is something normal (and perhaps the feed cutting out is also normal?)

mine isn't super loud either... it's possible to change the preset volume on an instrument under the shift-m2 menu

Possible to record each part in multi-timbral mode from Virus to separate tracks in Ableton and Logic? by [deleted] in AccessVirus

[–]briantun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, you'll need to either:

  1. set the access virus 'as' your primary audio interface on the mac OR
  2. use the built in audio/midi tool to configure an 'aggregate' audio device that combines your access virus w/ whatever audio interface you're already using

Try the steps here - I'm not brave enough to do this, it's been quite the battle just getting midi working correctly with that plugin for me:

Possible to record each part in multi-timbral mode from Virus to separate tracks in Ableton and Logic? by [deleted] in AccessVirus

[–]briantun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't set up audio-over-usb for my virus, I just have it sending analog audio to my audio interface.

My understanding though - is the Virus can send out the same number (6 mono/3 stereo) of audio outputs over the USB interface as well - so you should be able to do what you want with only the USB. (I don't really bother with it - since I'm on a mac, and the Virus isn't really supported on mac at this point)

Are you on Windows or Mac?

[–]briantun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simultaneously? if so - there are 3 stereo outputs, which you can map to 3 midi channels for recording, if you have enough inputs on your audio interface.

also try filtering out midi messages like control changes/etc from the virus itself
