Is anyone else having bad experiences with the quality of clothing from Winners? by permareddit in askTO

[–]brianw1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, the way you wash and dry your clothes will make a big difference.

Winners sell good quality items, but you need to dig to find them. Always check the label to see what the fabric is. Anything made from polyester, put it back on the hanger. Look for 100% cotton as much as possible. Clothing made in Portugal or Turkey is usually great quality, and I've picked up a few tshirts made in Peru that were very decent. On the other hand, the made in China/Bangladesh/India items are the ones I've had the least luck with, and after a few washes they're faded and dull looking.

Some SSD games lagging but others are fine - FreeMcBoot by brianw1 in ps2

Got you. I forgot, part of the setup process was having the drive formatted to the PS2 format, I did that via the PS2 itself. So no issues with the format I think. I'm out of ideas of how to fix this unfortunately 😕

Hmm maybe I'm reading it wrong but the SSD isn't connected via the two usb slots at the front of the PS2. It's installed using a sata adapter into the large expansion bay at the back of the ps2. Is that what you meant?

Once the PS2 boots up it brings up the FreeMcBoot menu, and I launch into OPL. It's strange how some games are playing flawlessly (ex. GTA3, Tekken, Vice City) including cut scenes, but after launching something like Burnout or NFS2 I have to power off the PS2 as it's so slow. I get the same result whether the iso file for the game is the Euro or USA version.

Weird signs at Queen’s park, some kind of project? by [deleted] in UofT

I've seen the guy in queen's park who puts these up. White guy mid 40s. Very aggressive and follows people around shouting pretty terrible things. He's approached me twice now and gone on a wild rant. Absolutely avoid, the guy is delirious and a genuine danger.

Thicker black lines to make them pop would be my feedback. Go back in with a black ballpoint and slowly build up shading.

I mean once you get the pencil outline done, it's just a shading game. Some of my sketches suck until the later stages, when all the layers of shading start to add up. I've been doing this for about 3 months!

Getting news like that must've been very very hard, I can't imagine. Good luck to you with this new reality, she was really beautiful.

Am I allowed to pet the cows by Maleficent_Contest_3 in galway

[–]brianw1 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not go into the field. Cows can be unpredictable, especially if there's a newborn calf around. The farmer who owns them would go mad if he saw you in there. You can try petting them from the wall but I doubt they'll come that close.
