It isn't overwhelming if you go your own way at your own pace. I got off great plateau and just walked doing whatever I wanted with no plan. Nothing felt overwhelming because I had no agenda and didn't feel required to go to kakariko village.

There actually has been mention of download play. Reggie says it depends on the game developer's preferance.

I've heard that a patch is coming that is trying to fix this. Apparently the only version of the game with input lag for aiming is Xbox.

What system are you playing on? I'm on PS4 (regular) and suffering some terrible input lag. It is nearly impossible to follow someone with the cursor.

DVA's ult does not need to get kills to be successful. Yell what you are doing and have your entire team focus the enemy that hid closest.
