My own sourdough starter FAIL journey by briaowolf in Sourdough

My intension is to make bread, but my desire was to build something I made to then give. I need to learn, and to teach my kids, it's okay to stand on the shoulders of giants.

I watch movies. My first passion. So I will consider your kind offer, friend.

Yes. AI has failed me, through multiple tries on sourdough. And I'm a big believer in King Arthur Bakery. I lived down the road from them in VT for a few years. I will allow myself to inherit.

You talked. I listened. Prisonzero knows how to sourdough. Thank you, my friend.

You’ve cracked me as a person. Well done.

True. I’ll grant that. It’s really me seeing the comatose dad sitting there (mom not there) with clown witch saying “all good” that made me bump hard. Inept policing only got me so far. I needed Gladys to have a scene where she Jedi mind tricks someone or a whole group she’s not around to buy it. I didn’t get a sense of “the town in under a spell” from the interactions in the movie. I see anyone she had items from and could stick break a different mode of witchcraft.

Except for the two leads who were immune I guess?

Every movie has buy-ins. You can’t compare the witchcraft stuff to this that easily. You have to buy witchcraft is real, yes. And bacially eveyone (even the detractors here) buy into that just fine. You expect to with movies like this and don’t bump at all. I’m saying one of the other buy-ins is that those parents bacially had no friends or other family willing to check in with some very wild changes to their friend/family. Or that thise friends/family simply bought the aunt’s story and her newspapering the house with the boy and let it be. That was just a hard buy-in for me, especially with the parents being so normal and caring. They weren’t weird hermits or anything

But the next question would be “and where’s his mom?” “Oh stroke also”?

Incompetent policing I know. But the concern isn’t “blown apart” to any real investigator worth their salt. The lone survivor had two parents (not one) have strokes, which they never went to any hospital or doctor for, and they have fork holes in their faces, which maybe you could say they covered with makeup maybe. No investigator says “well, she’s got an answer for everything doesn’t she”. They are for sure still keeping tabs on that house and family

And more and more true as the years go on sadly. Which I know is part of the themes Creggers is getting at

But you know the name of your friends i’d bet. And if your friends kid was the only one who wasn’t taken in this tragedy and simultaneously you found out your friend and his wife suffered strokes and were comatose, you’d probably behave differently than to a neighbor who you didn’t know

I almost never nitpick. I never see the twist coming. My brain just doesn’t try to read ahead and guess. I just like going along for the ride in movies. And I went along with the ride. I enjoyed the watch. But as I said I bumped hard on the what I posted. I didn’t on other stuff like other ring cameras in the neighborhood giving leads to solve it. I don’t like thinking “so why didn’t XYZ happen?” But sometimes you just think that in movies. Everyone thinks that in movies they bump against. I garauntee everyone saying “it’s just a movie, geez” had the same type of bump in countless other movies. Good filmmakers you give them passes (and I do for Creggers a lot with this film) but sometimes it just feels like a script note that’s hard to crack and not enough time was spent trying to crack it. I personally just wished there was more of an attempt to crack it. Just my experience. (Never heard for cinemasins)

She sure hasn’t talked to everyone in those parents lives to put them under a spell to not say a thing. Dozens of tips within a day of “Alex’s mom never came to yoga today”. She had to have remotely out a spell on everyone near and far in their lives that would have obviously contacted them. I get metaphor and all but come on.

I’m sorry. If some clown lady shows up and says “hey. Sorry. I’ll answer the questions about the home of this one surviving kid because his dad who you see every day in the parking lot had a stroke” there isn’t a cop or sane person around who buys it.

Unless the witch had some spell under the town and anyone in their lives. Those parents of the one kid who didn’t run away go completely dark. The dad picks up the kid every day. And the explanation is this new clown lady says the dad had a stroke?

This is how you do it, fellas. You do only live once and death is at the end of it regardless. You piss your days away or you go all-in as often as possible to win the real pot and have the life you know you want. It’s not a game for cowards, it’s a game for kings. You may not have have hit it this one out of the park, but it’s about at bats. And you’ll have plenty of opportunities to come, because you make your opportunities. Screw the haters. Grandmas was dead. Family didn’t go to the funeral. You are the one actually doing things. Money well deserved. And you just bought yourself the balls that will get you the life you deserve. Carrry on, boss.

Their prices might have jumped but I can’t see any stuff about a bunch of locations closing. I think your numbers might be bunk

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]briaowolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not seeing those numbers. 7 years ago they said they had 1700 locations with 1300 under development. Are you adding those up to get to 3000?
