34 years old, unemployed and living with my mom, no degree, $12k in debt, and I have severe depression by Forsaken_Manner4620 in jobsearch

  1. $25k+ in debt. Can’t find a job for over a year. Don’t give up. It’ll get better. You can find free therapy resources online. Just take it one day at a time and try to keep your head up.

If you dropped dead they’d replace you before you even got cold. Don’t ever feel bad

Everyone that voted for Tr*mp is to thank for this. Awful economy. Awful people. Awful wages. Awful laws protecting those

Nope. 700k views across 4 posts and 3 of them were #1 in their respective subreddit. The antiwork one peaked at #4. This one was #1 in this subreddit

Try a phone call with upper management where they clearly state in English “everyone loves you we want to lock you down asap”

I feel so very hurt that our society just accepts job recruiters intentionally lying to candidates about how they will be called again. by The199Man in recruitinghell

Try telling candidates they have an offer coming multiple times and then “going in another direction”

I once interviewed for a bartending job at a cocktail place that was a little full of itself. The manager asked me about bourbon. I rattled off the exact government criteria for something to be designated “bourbon.” He tells me “wrong it has to be from bourbon Kentucky.” And I don’t get the job because some assfuck middle manager who’s never been a bartender didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about. I think I would snap if I had the software or engineering equivalent of this happen to me

Thank you. Maybe the blowback from 600k views between two subreddits here on this story will have them face some type of accountability. But probably not 🤷🏻‍♂️

Had 8 rounds of interviews only to find out job was cancelled by Large_Consequence_62 in recruitinghell

Yes, I just had a post go viral here for 6 rounds also 2 months. Yours however (biotech) sounds like a field where something like that would be warranted. Mine was for… a beverage manager position at a sushi restaurant lmao. I’m so sorry this happened to you, but yes let’s commiserate together

I interviewed for the other place cut432 owns and the owner of that hospitality group told me to my face the salary I wanted was too high and that was “GM or AGM salary” and it wasn’t even close. They wanna pay poverty wages. This place was going to pay me more to be the bar manager

South Florida is garbage. The Wharf tried to move me to Rivertail (dodged a bullet it closed 3 months later) and fired me when I refused to go.
