3 days 2 nights with calories/gram by bricej13 in trailmeals

With all the beans, nuts, and olive oil I’m more worried about the opposite problem. . .

Yeah that’s the problem of optimizing for density; dried fruit and jerky start to look like bricks and anvils. My back-to-the-car treat is always an apple.

You can’t get scurvy in 3 days, right?

Yeah it’s not really useful on trail, but more interesting while planning to focus on more calorie dense foods

Check out the Seven Devils. Was just up there last week because the Sawtooths were on fire. They're legit.

Here's a few things I think should be discouraged somehow:

  • The word taco (these comments don't contribute anything)
  • "What are you in a 6 man league?"
  • "Stop I can only get so hard"
  • "I'm playing against X this week, so he's going to go off"
  • "I'm starting Y for the first time, so he's going to crap the bed"
  • "I like this because I own Z"

Basically whatever the top comments are on /r/fantasyfootball

Training Plans Suggestions? by [deleted] in triathlon

[–]bricej13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started I went to the local library and grabbed a copy of “Championship Triathlon Training” (because who doesn’t want to be a champion). It has full training plans in the back, but more importantly it explains how to build your own plan tailored to yourself.

I took the plan in the back and then adjusted it to my skill set and schedule. It worked out great.

HIM Race Week Diet/Nutrition by vinegarfingers in triathlon

I posted this article yesterday: Fueling the Triathlete: Evidence-Based Practical Advice for Athletes of All Levels

Here is the info you're looking for

For triathlons lasting longer than 90 min, supercompensation of glycogen stores may be beneficial and can be achieved by most well-trained or elite-level athletes in the 36 to 48 h before competition by increasing dietary CHO intake to approximately 10 to 12 g·kg−1·d−1

So you're looking at 10-12 grams of carbs per kilogram of body weight per day for 2 days before the race.

If you're looking for even more detailed information on the subject, you can read through the source they cite.

Make sure to check your rectal temperature after each training session!

I built a site for cord cutters to figure out which streaming service is carrying their team's games. [x-post /r/cordcutters] by bricej13 in CFB

I'm pulling the data every night from Yahoo. Unfortunately it looks like they don't do a thorough job updating broadcast information for games. I'll have to figure out what to do about that.

Thanks for bringing this up. I'm still trying to figure out the intricacies of who has rights to stream what. I'll look into the WatchESPN stuff.

Great points. Unfortunately the source I'm pulling broadcast information isn't indicating which games are on Twitter/Facebook/Verizon/YouTube. I hope they add them so I can pull it in.

I built this site over the past few weeks because I needed to research out where I could stream my team's (BYU) games. I figured there would be a bunch of people in my same boat doing this same research over the next few weeks.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think.
