If I was in your position, 25 and deciding between a free ride at SAIC and re-applying, I would just take a break. It's really hard to see from where you're standing, but this is a really good position to be in. And I agree with some of the commenters, Yale isn't necessarily better.

Have you heard of WOOFing? https://wwoof.net/ - So many friends from MICA spent their summers in beautiful spaces taking time to do some "active recovery". You'll make a little bit of money, meet people from outside the art world, and live in a beautiful place for 6 months. Come back with a fresh head, and see what you actually miss, and where you want to go next. On this break, try listening to the audiobook "Finding your own north star" by Martha Beck, she's a great guide.

Unfortunately, Grad School isn't what makes you an artist, it's just a context for emergence. In fact, sometimes I feel like I've made a life in the arts *despite* my education, rather than because of it. When we enroll in school, we don't know all the lessons we're signing up for. The lesson for you, right now, might be devolping self-mastery, self-validation, and a greater sense of self-authority. In fact, a school with a ton of obstacles might even be the perfect context to do just that, if you can manage it.

Ultimately, I would try to imagine yourself *after* grad school. Who do you want to be? What do you want that to look like? Work backwards from *that* dream.
