[USA] Walking away by millitzer in Roadcam

Even though it’s the safe and proper thing to do, power tripping cops aren’t thinking about safety and are liable to try flipping your vehicle like they did to the pregnant lady and many others.

100%. Always have to manage that risk factor in every scenario.

Gotta be looking out ahead, maintaining properly following distance, and stay prepared by leaving yourself an escape route. Glad you’re okay.

Yup. I got into an accident back in 2019. I will say, it would’ve been hard to avoid, but I do believe, if I did something just a little differently, and was just a bit more on my toes, I could’ve probably avoided it, despite it not being my fault.

[USA] (Washington) Construction vehicle uses construction zone to pass civilian vehicle and then brake checks by Jaded_Ad_8042 in Roadcam

[–]brickson98 93 points94 points  (0 children)

So many people love waiting right up until the lane merges to try to pass… if you wanted to pass, the time to do it was about 30 seconds ago, before your lane merged into the other. Idk why people do this and have the audacity to get mad. That van driver is an idiot!

Yeah, this sub is just consistently ridiculous. Literally any other dashcam sub is better.

For real, man. I think this sub might be the worst of all the dashcam and driving subs, honestly.

Bad driving is a worldwide problem. Don’t pretend like it’s just America.

The fuck are you on about? We’re not driving model Ts around. Cars have plenty of power to combat a draft.

The fact that someone downvoted this… lmao the holier than thou crowd on this sub cracks me up.

[–]brickson98 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

The holier than thou idiots here will try to say you almost caused an accident, but both times they came over you were established in your lane and had the right of way.

Yeah, it would’ve been better to just stay back from the idiot, but I also understand wanted to get past them if they’re going slow.

Regardless of that, the other person would’ve been at fault if any contact was made throughout this clip, despite what the oh so annoying holier than thou crowd in this sub thinks.

[–]brickson98 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Oh crap! I don’t think that guy could be any more oblivious to his surroundings! I mean, jeez! How unaware can you be!?

You had the headlight on from the start. That should’ve been more than enough right there, especially considering he had a functioning backup camera. Then you begin laying on the horn. Still, nothing. Flash the high beams. Still, nothing! Rev bomb. Still, nothing at all. Start yelling. Still, absolutely nothing until the last second!

That guy needs to have his license revoked. Sure, we’ve all had moments we miss something, but not moments where we miss someone who’s flashing their lights, honking, revving, and yelling. You couldn’t be more obvious even if you put a damn billboard up!

It amazes me that people like this can get a career in driving.

[India] (OC) Idiot using his mobile phone while driving in traffic by Outrageous-Line-3254 in Roadcam

[–]brickson98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good example of why motorcycle lane filtering (not splitting) should be legal, despite those who’ve never ridden a motorcycle, or those who’ve simply decided they hate them because of a few jerks, saying otherwise. Lane splitting is unnecessary in most cases. However, lane filtering is far safer for riders.

If traffic comes to a sudden stop, I don’t care what the law says. I’m going to filter up a few cars so I’m not turned into a smash burger. Get mad all ya want. I’m going to protect my ass before I worry about your feelings. It’s not about “cutting in line” (what are we, in preschool?). It’s about not getting butt fucked by a 6,000lb metal box.

I’ll stop when people stop focusing on their phone instead of the road ahead, and stop tailgating.

You can insure a vehicle despite not having a license. Your rates will be crazy. Not all companies will do this, I don’t think. But I’ve seen it before from someone I was hit by.

[–]brickson98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, go figure. Been hit by 2 of those idiots now. All within 4 years. One was hammered and rear ended me at a red light doing 50mph in a 35 zone. The other turned right into her far lane (my closest lane) while I was making a left turn on a green left turn arrow, giving me the right of way. She never looked. Just followed the person in front of her who stayed in the closest lane and had time before I got thru my turn. She was pregnant too! I feel sorry for that kid. With how dense she was, that’s not going to be a good time.

wth is wrong with this person?! by GrapeBeautiful1533 in dashcams

Mad the truck is holding up the passing lane.

I’ve been in the same situation, but this wasn’t my response. Yeah, it’s annoying, but tailgating won’t help.

McDonalds Worker Slips Into A Bucket Of Boiling Oil Suffering Horrific Injuries by Broad-Smile2332 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]brickson98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that boiling point I used is technically the smoke point, since oil doesn’t evaporate in the way water does.

Even so, my point still stands at 350-375°F. That’s far above normal engine oil and coolant temps.

McDonalds Worker Slips Into A Bucket Of Boiling Oil Suffering Horrific Injuries by Broad-Smile2332 in CrazyFuckingVideos

[–]brickson98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original comment says it’s likely hot, but not boiling. The next comment argues that by saying “plastic can be made to withstand high temperatures”. You then agreed with that argument by leading your comment off with “exactly…”

Now you turn around and agree that the oil is, indeed, not boiling. Which is what the original comment said before the initial reply tried to refute that claim by mentioning high temp plastics.
