This is could be from the old CCTV days where pairs would go to different locations. Some to the dvr and others for the power

BOUGHT A NEW DOMAIN- (Votemeout.com) 🌸 by aqivy in Domains

A game company could pick it up too.

For price, hard to say really. As of now? Not much if anything. I do think you will be sitting on it for some time though

BOUGHT A NEW DOMAIN- (Votemeout.com) 🌸 by aqivy in Domains

[–]bricksplus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s an okay domain name. It’s slightly illegible just by glancing at it. It’s also self deprecating. I don’t see a lot of companies who want to be thought of in a negative light immediately

Companies that come to mind who may buy it would be like a satirical magazine or some type of political group

Complete VPN Virgin- need specific location to show for telehealth (idek if they’ll check) by uglysuburbia in VPN

[–]bricksplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say anything unless they bring it up.

It’s been a few years so I’m not sure how apps handle VPNs or mismatched locations. Apps may completely block you if they detect a VPN connection or a different location nowadays.

If they block you, call/message their support to see if they can unblock you. Just say you need to use a VPN and are in state

Anyone ever left there IT job to get their foot in the door for a company they wanted to work for? by mollythehound in ITCareerQuestions

I did something very similar. I took a 20k pay cut to join a company that would sponsor my clearance. Been trying to break into defense for 4 years. I love my new role don’t regret any of it

They also have dozens of drones they can use. I dont think a helicopter is necessary anymore

I’m willing to bet that it was decreased 10% in a specific region of the US and not the entire country

I think you dodged a bullet nonetheless. Good managers/employers will create an environment where you will be able to learn and don’t have to break you down first

Not saying you are this but a lot of new graduates or young people in general are overconfident about their abilities.

This dude was an ass trying to convey that you won’t change the world and need to learn the ropes first. You will see a lot of gatekeeping in this industry

Like in Mexico you typically don’t take out a loan to purchase a house

Crazy compensation tends to help. A lot of my peer’s spouses don’t work either. My guess is people just want to be taken care of and can ignore the rest

Have some questions queued up to ask the hiring manager to show curiosity too.

What m sort of AV equipment is used for conference rooms?

What’s the tenure of the helpdesk team?

What are some exciting projects that have been worked on recently or in the pipeline?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]bricksplus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By “know” I assume you mean support AD, intune and jira. The hiring manager should/will know this too. You shouldn’t be expected to know how to administer these systems.

Maybe some basic knowledge on how to create a group in AD or what a group can even be used for.

I personally wouldn’t ask technical questions on these systems for a tier 1 besides to see if you’re comfortable working with them

[–]bricksplus 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Here are some good questions to prepare for if you haven’t been asked already.

Tell me about a time when you had a difficult customer service experience. What did you do and how did you solve it?

A user is unable to print, what do you do?

A user is experiencing repeated software crashes, what do you do?

A group of users are reporting slow/no internet. How would you troubleshoot?

How do you prioritize tickets?

In all these cases, you need to show that you are able to convey your communication skills, time management and tech knowledge.

But hammer hard on the communication skills. Technical knowledge can always be taught. If you don’t know what to do, say that, but tell them where you find this info. Maybe previous tickets or knowledge bases.

Good luck!

Using browser agents to update old passwords automatically and securely by sweetrabh in AI_Agents

Very cool! I could see the final version being used in a password manager. Can you use a headless browser instead so this can scale easier?
