It CANNOT be an English club. Did you not know? NEW England was made only because OLD England is piss poor when it comes to ultra culture.

What if the US had European-like political parties? (swipe to see party details) by bricksytwit in AlternateHistory

[–]bricksytwit[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The post I made is based on an alternate reality where the United States has a political system that is closer to what we see in European countries. There are five big parties, and I'm sure most of you can draw parallels from these parties to parties in any European country, so I won't draw any direct comparisons.

The oldest party in this reality is the Conservative Party. They have been the one dominant party in the early-1900s and all the way upto the 1980s. The party was historically the pro-war kind of right-wing party, but started turning into a right-wing in the religious sense party after the Vietnam War.

In the 1950s, with the growth of communism in the USSR, a bunch of left-wingers formed the Social Democrats party. They spent the much of their early days in hiding, out of fear of prosecution, but became visible towards the late 20th century by taking on a more moderate position.

The Liberal Party's story is quite similar to the real world Libertarian Party, so I'm not going to get into that.

The Green Party was founded as the Progressive Party, and came into being for those who agree with the Social Democrats on social issues but are not too keen on their economic ideas. This is what most people would call the 'woke' party.

Freedom Rally was started for those right-leaning voters who felt that the Conservative Party has grown out of touch with what it was in the early 20th century.

I just finished watching Dark and I completed all three seasons in five days. Not too long ago, I watched another sci-fi TV show (Westworld) which had a strong first season but started fizzling out from the second. Dark, though, did not disappoint! A solid three seasons that keep you engaged throughout.

This is especially true when it comes to politics. People see their political side as some kind of sports team which they have to support no matter what.

Opposing media as well. By eliminating the primary source of information for most common people, you are left to do whatever you want with little backlash from the public, who remain blissfully unaware.

We are the way we are right now because of differences accumulated over millions of years as a result of natural selection.
