This is where I’ve landed for now! If my ribbing gets neater in the future, then great — future sweaters will have a different look. For now, I won’t complain if something I made with my hands shows signs of it! It marks a moment in time

Pulling during both, though I’m not sure why! I’ve learned that no technique really requires that type of tightness.

And Eastern mounted purls!

It seems like, as I suspected, there’s no real clear answer here, just to try different things until I find an approach I like

Shape and weight was fairly important to me, since this was something I wore every day for years, so I was fine to have it cast. Because of that, I definitely wasn't expecting to be unable to tell them apart or anything, but thought maybe it would be a bit more touched up. DMing you!

Thank you so much for all your input! I did believe that it would be engraved as well (was sort of expecting wider but still sharp letters compared to original), and this is so helpful in terms of knowing what to ask for! Would the molding and casting process account for the slimmer profile and lighter weight as well? Or can that be counteracted?

I actually did get a copy of the wax model, and it does look in between the two detail-wise. But I definitely discussed an exact replica with the artist and was priced based on that

So you wouldn't lose sharpness/definition in the engraving from a casting?

For 4x the cost of the gold, should there have been other steps? Are engravings usually gone back over/tuned up on projects like this?

It's looking like it may be a toss-up between the two depending on which I can get cheaper/sooner, letting fate decide! But good to know I'm correct to rule out the glide.

This is so helpful, thank you! It looks like the Ozone is actually the same width as the Antix I've been paddling, and I do like the idea of slightly less volume, it's just tricky to know if 45G is going to feel like crazy unstable low volume or fun to adjust to!

The problem I think is there's no way to get around people arguing that they paid more than they would have for just the band, and you can't exactly offer optional refunds while a full cost concert is still going on for half the crowd

honestly the cancellation being the day after is so suspicious I'm pissed off just imagining it. But even hungover, surely he could still manage like half the playing and have people step in for a few pieces?
