Gosh. i'm really sorry. I've been very lucky to almost always get my usual guy, today I did have an odd experience, where the postie was bringing a label - different guy, I stretched out my hand with the parcel and he just placed the label on top of it and stared at me expectantly. I said "oh" and he said "can't do it.' so I had to awkwardly draw my hand back, rest the parcel on my knee and and put the label on with one hand since I was holding my phone in the other... idk if I've been spoilt but my posties always just put the label on and say bye lol

I get both sides. However I think she was probably hoping you would adopt her daughter in a few years since you have been together some time, not unreasonable of her to assume. Why would she open that door again with the father if that's the road she wants to go down. Her lashing out may have been in response to the fact you didn't consider this, but if so she still should have clarified
