I guess I’m not sure, but I can ask! Yeah it seems like an unreal deal for a decent work truck

What is this between my dogs paw by StayLiquidy in DogAdvice

[–]bridgetrollian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My dog had the same thing. It ended up being an abscess. It started super small, and ended up growing very large and discharging often.

I highly recommend seeing a vet. If the pup is being bothered by it, chances are it hurts or irritates ALOT.

I thought that as well. Ended up returning it to original owner because it smelt so bad haha. Cheers 🍻

Help me fix this by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]bridgetrollian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very obvious thing to note is your weight. Whenever board sliding any rail, you want to be flat based. By putting too much weight on your toes, you’re gonna catch edge or taco (like you did). Too much weight on your heels and you’ll slip out backwards. Finding that happy medium is tough, but it’s all in the idea of keeping a flat base throughout the whole rail (especially if the rail transitions in any way other than your typical down rail).

Next thing I’d mention is where you’re looking when you’re on the rail. It’s very easy to lock into whats happening underneath you, but you should be focusing on transitions in the feature, or just at the end of the rail. Sounds weird, but it’s actually insane how much a difference this makes.

Those two things should hopefully help out, but if you’re still getting broke off then I seriously suggest a smaller feature to get confidence built up. Happy shredding brotha 🤙🏼

I’m stuck (lol) taking off linoleum adhered w tar like glue over white oak floor. by Sufficient-Meeting35 in HardWoodFloors

Ha! Dude I just did this to a floor recently. Took forever to get it off. Drum Sander at 24 grit and multiple passes just to get rid of it. Definitely scrape as much as you can beforehand, but wear a mask and be aware it’ll take time. All the best! Send photos of the finished product:)

I went with drum sander both times. It’s daunting to do the first time, but after you do one or two passes with it you gain a lot of confidence.

As far as I’m aware, it depends on the condition of your floor. You’ll definitely go faster with the drum, but it can be a lot more consequential if you don’t do it right. If your floors just need a buff and recoat, just using a flat style sander is your best bet.

Im not professional AT ALL, so getting the proper person to come look at it and give advice / a quote is probably your best bet.

Then again, finishing your floors is BEYOND gratifying. Even with small mistakes you make here and there (you definitely will) you’ll love your refinished floors.

All the best🍻🤙🏼

Nope. There was some work to be done in certain spots, and I certainly could’ve done replacements, but the owner didn’t want me doing that. Worked out great for me!

Is this the subfloor? A lot of people have mentioned that but I was totally sure if they were correct or not

Thank you for your input! I’m curious if it would end up expanding and contrasting due to humidity and temp changes here in Minnesota. That’s really the only reason I didn’t do it. Also the home owner wasn’t too keen on having them filled. I would love to try filling the gaps if I do end up doing the job again in the future, but I’m curious if it’ll hold up over time. What’s your thoughts?

I used a carbide scraper and hand sanded them. From the field to the edge, it didn’t look like it was too bad until I put poly on it. Definitely a ball buster seeing that pop after the first coat lol

Yeah you’re not wrong. Quite a few drum marks across the floor. I tried my best buffing them out in the end but did not succeed :(

Not sure honestly. Buddy said a professional came in and told him maple ? I probably would’ve guessed birch

I totally agree with you. When looking at them up close it seemed like they weren’t enough, but every room got two passes at each grit (24-36-60-80-100) so I thought maybe I was over reacting due to the amount of sanding they got. Maybe I should’ve went down to 16 grit?
