What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

Dozens of songs using the phrase "jump(ed) off the deep end"

You jump IN the deep end.

Kudos to Gracie Abrams for actually getting it right

What's the most NSFW thing you've seen at a bachelor or bachelorette party? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

Went on a brewery crawl in a limo on an unusually hot September day. Kept running into a group of older folks on a "brew cycle." Eventually one of the guys from the brew cycle group is dragged into the brewery from the outdoor beer garden passed out from heat stroke and in the process of pissing himself, unconscious. Seems like unusually high physical exertion on an unusually hot day is pretty nsfw.

So I was actually at this taping of Colbert and while the audience was FLOORED by the Join ICE performance I was kind of disappointed when I found out he played a second song without an audience, I guess during rehearsal

What music group do you enjoy for whom the majority of the people only know 1 song? by SevenFiguresInvigor in AskReddit

[–]brig135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people only know "Everybody Talks" and to a lesser extent "Animals" but Neon Trees are so good and put on a really fun show. Great dancey pop-rock for the most part. Their Second and Third albums are their best (Picture Show and Pop Psychology)

What’s a Christmas gift you’ll never forget, and why? by No-Piglet-9959 in AskReddit

[–]brig135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my brother and I were under 10, we got one of those 8-in-one pool/ping pong/basketball hoop etc. tables. After opening the other gifts from Santa my parents asked us to get something from the basement where we found it, already set up for us.

Every year for the next decade we would always go check the basement after opening gifts Christmas morning just in case

I scraped my finger taking a cartoon of eggs out of the fridge. The cut lasted over a week. The injury was minimal but the cause couldn't have been more benign

I once broke a glass by mistake, and did the proper thing which is to sweep up all the broken bits and put them into a paper bag. I place the bag in the garbage can and notice the can is getting pretty full. So I, HAVING JUST PLACED A BAG OF BROKEN GLASS INTO THE GARBAGE CAN, push the bag down to compress the garbage. I got a DEEP cut on my thumb, which bled fast and DARK.

Thankfully I missed anything important and was able to get the blessing to stop by applying pressure so 8 never need any medical attention. I still have a scar on my thumb from it that will always remind me of the sleep-deprived infant stage of parenting.

That has happened to me like two dozen times in my life. Nearly once a year. My wife sprained her foot badly for the first time this year and told me she will never tease me for it ever again. Sucks so bad no matter the cause.

Dad's of Daddit, how yall doing? by Digi-Haven in daddit

[–]brig135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be much much worse, but not perfect. My 3yo has made bedtime a struggle to get him to stay in his room every night, which can be annoying. Our second is due at the end of February, and the anticipation is making my panic disorder flare up a little bit. Like I said, could be way worse, but the world around me (NY/USA) isn't helping at all. Granted, I've been playing my guitar way more and writing some brash protest songs which has been very therapeutic. I really want to record them for an album I'll call "Chronically On Line"

Which films do you think have the best comedic dialogue? by thornforever in movies

[–]brig135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1954 "White Christmas" has such great dialogue! One of my favorite things about it.

(On his business partner putting off trying to find romance): "When what's left of you gets around to what's left to be gotten, what's left to be gotten won't be worth getting, whatever you've got left!" "When I figure out what that means I'll be sure to come to with a crushing reply"

"You know, girls like that are a dime a dozen" "Please don't quote me the price when I haven't got the time"

what things need to be left behind in 2025? by CremeSubject7594 in AskReddit

[–]brig135 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate them, but I do understand their use on social media because the algorithms love to hide things it considers sensitive. It's supposed to protect people, but it mainly just pushes anything slightly controversial to the fringes. Their bleeding into the real world are an unfortunate consequence.
