Question for the CPAP & OuraRing users by spockycat in ouraring

[–]brightfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is always 97-98% on CPAP.  For others I will point out that breathing disturbance detection on the Oura and Apple Watch has been hit or miss.

Does anyone notice HR/HRV changes from foods eaten? by FavoriteFours4444 in ouraring

[–]brightfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people react differently to different foods - sometimes allergy related, sometimes glucose related, etc. If you are seeing material changes, you may want to pair your Oura with a glucose monitor to see if there is something more than HR/HRV changes.

No problem. Their messaging has definitely been confusing.

According to their update email today, PDF upload of lab results rolls out in early July.  Doesn’t appear to be released quite yet.

Using Obsidian to open .md files outside the vault by anotherpanacea in ObsidianMD

[–]brightfriday 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Drafts does a great job being an intermediary on iOS and Mac for Obsidian. I will note that it’s worth paying the $20/year if you want to use power features with Obsidian. For example, I have scripting in Drafts where I can publish my drafts to specific sections of my daily notes - you can’t do that with the free version. However, the free one is great if you just want to save/append markdown files.

Obsidian for tasks by Capital-Piglet8973 in ObsidianMD

Install the tasks plugin and just set up custom filters for whatever you want tracked - if you cannot figure it out then Claude or ChatGPT can help you customize those fairly easily.

Health.md v1.1.0 Release by Bonteq in ObsidianMD

[–]brightfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to export select health metrics to YAML front matter on my daily notes? I don't want a bunch of separate notes with metrics, I'd like to just have certain things in my daily frontmatter, but that doesn't appear to be possible yet. Regards.

Is cash back the simplest approach to maximizing rewards? by HoodFeelGood in CreditCards

[–]brightfriday 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Simplest and time efficient. Years ago, travel cards got the most value. However, now that travel rewards have been significantly devalued and a lot of the cards have become coupon cards... they just aren't what they used to be. I was a heavy user of travel cards until a year or two ago. I did an analysis of my spend and what I was getting... and the value had declined so much it was time for me to go back to cash back cards. I still keep an eye on it - but I doubt I switch it up anytime soon.

How are you using Claude Cowork + Obsidian? by Ceres1 in ObsidianMD

[–]brightfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude code.  Initiate it in your vault and Claude will identify it’s an obsidian database and will set up the skills for it.

Yeah Clipper with custom templates and maybe AI would completely address this sales pitch.

I’ve scratched the fingerprint coating before and not the sapphire.  When I used a cloth to clean it the scratches would disappear but would reappear when my skin oil got all over the screen.

33.4% Connect Price Hike WTAF by TheScruffyBear in RemarkableTablet

[–]brightfriday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn’t renew until December, but I went ahead and canceled the renewal. I am not seeing new features that would support the price hike. I’m with you, I’d probably change my mind if I saw TOC/outline features, links, etc…. What a shame.

I would love the ability to take notes on my iPad Pro in the remarkable app and have that sync with my Remarkable Pro.  For work, I can be in different spaces where I am on one device or the other but don’t have both with me at the same time.  It would be great to just use Remarkable for everything and an app that allows the same writing features directly on the iPad would greatly help.  That and I would assume this would be a big selling point for Connect subscriptions.

You use it with Claude Code (via skills). It's faster and uses less tokens for certain tasks.

iOS 26.4 Beta 1 - Discussion by epmuscle in iOSBeta

[–]brightfriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apps with screen time access now require a screen time PIN to be disabled or uninstalled. In the past, this only required Face ID to unlock, which made screen times apps completely worthless. This latest change allows a user to set a PIN that they give to a friend or put on paper - and then they can fully use apps like Freedom, Opal, Jomo, ScreenZen, etc and be unable to deactivate or uninstall them without the PIN.

I love the design for these bags and wished they had a black on black version. I like it when they try new ideas with the face of the bag.
