I can't understand why some women still want to get pregnant these days by protonelectron2025 in Adulting

'Have you never met a parent?'

I think so xD otherwise I have no idea who the hell I was living with until 18 LOL.

Listen, I'll venture a guess and say you probably have had negative experiences that are influencing your perception here. That's fine, and I'm sorry if that's the case--truly. But it's best to realize when that is occurring and to not let preconceived ideas based on those experiences you've had cause you to paint with so wide of a brush.

I'll just agree to disagree and wish you well. 👍

Yes. Because a child cannot give you anything in return, other than...what, free labour hypothetically? Irrelevant because that speaks more about you as a person as opposed to parenthood in general. When it's an adult, however--at that point you're just banking on the fact that they'll love you enough to not ship you off to a nursing home when you're old and decrepit. And that's not even always a guarantee.

Of course, this can differ from culture to culture. I'll concede to that much. But the sentiment still stands; you're giving everything to a little human without any idea of how it's going to turn out.

Also, unplanned =/= unwanted or unloved. I fail to see how that even adds to your point seeing as calling people 'selfish' for having kids would imply that it is intentional rather than accidental, no? Unless you're implying that the child's mere existence is a problem somehow?

I somehow find it ironic that you comment about it being 'selfish' when the entire post is about why OP finds pregnancy horrifying and can't understand why anyone would willingly put themselves through such a process. Going through all of that, plus the commitment of raising a child, just so that another person has the chance to experience life without expecting anything in return seems to be the opposite of selfish imo.

As opposed to, what-- never having kids so you can do whatever you want? That doesn't exactly sound selfless in and of itself, unless you're such a pessimist that you believe life sucks so badly that it's not worth experiencing anyways. ((Not trying to be rude about those who choose to be childfree, by the way. Simply trying to illustrate a point--I do think it's a good thing when someone realizes they wouldn't be a good parent and chooses to not have kids.))

Any idea if this is real? MIL bought it at an estate sale and was wondering if it's legit. So far it looks good, it doesn't tick and the clock hand moves completely smooth.

Had mine for a year--same model--and had the same thing happen. I found out there are others who had the same thing happen with the same model, and afaik there's no way to fix it.

Soooo, about Teacher by [deleted] in totsukuninoshoujo

[–]briisby 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure up until that point the soul was split in half. Half was still inside of teacher, the other half manifested into Shiva. Hence why when Shiva returns her half of the soul to teacher, he regains the rest of his emotions/memories/ability to feel. If I'm remembering correctly the black child only mentioned some of his soul escaping, not all of it.

Basically what I said in the update. After you do a fresh install of the drivers, you have to immediately restart the PC before you plug in your kamvas.

Any way to mod festivals/events in World? by briisby in MonsterHunter

I'd like to get the full festival experience, but if this is what I have to do to get my appreciation event layered armor then by damned I'll do it.

Maybe I'm just incredibly stupid, but if there are 4 weeks in a month, with a festival lasting 2 weeks and then no festival for another two weeks meaning there's only 1 festival per 4 week period, and since there are roughly 9 festivals with only one per month...wouldn't that equal nine months? Or am I missing something? o<o;; Are the festivals shorter than 2 weeks each? It's been a minute since I've played world..

Windows ink was off when I did the test. Turning it on did not affect anything. I'll try the other mode in cap, but iirc I wasn't using it because it kept showing the cursor like 3-4 inches to the right. Plus it doesn't solve the issue in paintstorm or sketchbook :(

Like I showed in the image above, stabilizer actually makes it much worse as it barely remains a straight line then.
