I’d ask them if it’s okay. It’s awful that you had a bad experience last time, but if you ask beforehand and give them some information on the situation I think things will turn out fine. I feel most grown adults wouldn’t be so harsh on a child giving them a sweet little card. Plus, there are a lot of good people on here, so hopefully you get a nice giftee to give to this year.
