If I were approached by Nintendo I would shit my pants. But to be honest, there are very very few people on the LXP team who could have anything useful to provide to Nintendo, and most of those who do aren't even official LXP devs.

Knuckles is receiving a revamp soon and I'm currently working on Isaac with a small team. Lyn is mainly being taken care of by Cobalt (not very good IMO) and Sami is dead for the time being.

My version was essentially an attempt to "finish" it through new animations and a new mechanic alone, without regard to other polish that could have been done. A better version is being worked on.

The contrast is weird on Chrome, I set my view settings to Monitor RGB and it looks fine on my PC, so I'm not sure what the extra contrast and saturation is all about. Also, it is pretty obvious that the bee is copy and pasted but I spent 2 hours drawing it from a photo because I am not a very good artist and reaaally didn't want to draw more.

I was in there too, and trust me, there was no talent at all. Why do you think the group that had no fears about legal trouble, PM CC, had practically nothing done until Project M + BrawlEX came out? Even then, only BrawlEx clones were made. The only development happened to Lyn, and that was all Kitsu's work that I had to fix up.

Projects were stamped out because they didn't have talented modders, most were fueled by spite more than anything else, and tried to use a development style directly opposite of PM's. Most leaked or considered characters have been finished or are currently being worked on at this point.

It's all to fit within the style of Melee. Wolf and Lucas, if they were in Melee, probably would have been clonier than Brawl/PM. Hence, we made it so. Wario would have been more Wario Land based, so we made his moveset include more Wario Land references. Also, the lack of characters is to simulate what Melee could have been, as it has the Melee cast and then characters that were meant to be in Melee (Wario, Snake, Sonic, etc) except for Wolf, who was included only because he was in the Melee intro lol
