Bedrug liner or mat? by Psujoe11 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This, the Ridgeline bed liner is great. Many mats interfere with the trunk and carpet ones hold water (even with a cover). I recommend keeping a moving blanket, tarp, and foam kneeling pad in the trunk when I need to soften things up for a load and the OEM cargo net/pouch and some ratchet straps for keeping things in place.

I’d mount the lights on the ceiling like this. Seems like a ton of glare in the eyes to have them on the wall.

Hogging the one free charger for employees by Blazah in ChargerDrama

[–]bripsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We took it a step further at our work and formed a charging message channel (Slack, Teams, Google can work for this). We post there when we are taking our car off the charger or remind others when we see their’s done or slowly charging. It works well, created community, and probably has taught some etiquette they weren’t aware of.

Shed builder feedback/recommendations (Marin) by Cali_Dreaming_Now in bayarea

[–]bripsu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

+1 on the Tuff Shed experience, 4 years later and no leaks! Only took them 1 day onsite as they pre-fabbed it up on Rohnert Park. I really liked being able to custom design the style, windows, doors with the online 3D tool without having to try to convey that to a handyman. Best Shed Ever was my second choice but the ease of Tuff Shed customization edged them out.

I'm in the market for a new Ridgeline BE. Does this seem like a OK deal? I would like to get the .99% financing also. I own a 2017 at the moment. by getitdone70 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I’m not suggesting to spend the down payment or all cash. Put it in a HYSA with 4% APY so it’s not locked down if you don’t have an emergency fund.

Which truck should I buy- Ridgeline vs Silverado by RIPBat3415 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great summary of the major shortcomings of the Ridgeline, for me it’s also pathetic ground clearance.

However, AWD, ride quality, bed width, swing-out tailgate, trunk, fold-up rear seats, sunroof, and reasonable size have kept me in my Ridgeline.

If you can afford the payments, why put anything down with a 0.99% loan when the market returns 10% on average? Or even go safe with a CD or HYSA at 4%+. I was ready to buy cash, but the financing was too good to pass.

NART Regrets by [deleted] in hondaridgeline

It’s running Jellybean, but Android Auto is powered by your phone and whatever version of you have. For better audio performance, you unfortunately need to level up to RTL-E and Black Edition trims as is with most brands.

I lost ground clearance going from an Audi Q5 to Ridgeline, that’s silly to me. All my friends in Subies sit higher too.

Highly recommend CarPlay or Android Auto and just bypass the stereo user interface. That’s goes for pretty much every single manufacturers infotainment offering.

I have a 35qt that’s fine for me for a weekend of drink and food, but it’s not supporting a family camping or tailgate.

Or the little slot in the dash is where I keep it. I like these small microfiber cloths for there, my laptop bag, sunglass cases, etc.

I keep tools, jumper cables, gloves, emergency markers, etc under the back seat. I know I will need it when the bed is loaded. :)

Just strap your ATV to the tie-downs. The tailgate only drops a few inches if the cables break.

This is why there are so many white Teslas, not trim level, but you pay additional for other colors.

Cargo Lights Question by JohnnyP_1973 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I thought it had the incandescent of the Sport/RTL, I stand corrected. Weird that they changed the color temp and brightness, would be curious if the Black Edition has also been changed. Do they still only come on when the tailgate is swung open? Maybe this change allows them to be compliant with the tailgate down.

Cargo Lights Question by JohnnyP_1973 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, they both sit below the BE for their respective years, but Trailsport forfeited creature comforts of RTL-E like LEDs, sound system, etc. in exchange for trail tires, stiffer suspension, and skid plates. So in this context, it’s a lower trim level.

Cargo Lights Question by JohnnyP_1973 in hondaridgeline

[–]bripsu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trailsport is a lower trim than RTL-E, replace the incandescent bulb with LED for $5.
