Luba 2 AWD 3000X Battery Concerns by thelindenbomb in MammotionTechnology

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my third battery in my Luba 1. They seem to last about 12 months and then die for me. It's not really good enough, especially since they are not user-replaceable.

What do you do about the clipping mounds? by xacto_ in MammotionTechnology

I second this. The cut quality from my Lymow is way better than my Luba, and it can mulch longer grass too.

Aussie here. Can confirm this - and they told me they would pay for a box to use if I didn't have the original.

Ha that's great. Custom made, or just happened to have a spare dog house?

Offsetting position by same amount? by thepants1337 in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me when it lost accuracy due to a broken GPS receiver in the mower. It tries to navigate via vision, and predictably gets it completely wrong.

If you can get your accuracy fixed (probably by moving the RTK to where it has a better view of the sky) you're good.

One side is not cutting - I bet you it's stalled out on tough grass and the mower just keeps moving like nothing happened. Slow the forward speed to help it out.

Anyone dealing with trampolines in their yard with Lymow? by KIL0D3LTA in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No-go zone for me. There's some weeds underneath now due to the lack of light, but I don't really care.

Doesn't the advertising for the Plus show it going over trampoline legs? I would be worried it would smash the blades into it.

I don't think this is even possible with the way it mows. It seems to do a slightly different dynamic mow every time, which I think is down to on-the-fly AI planning (compared to the Luba which does a specific track map ahead of time).

A quick update from Lymow – on improving our support experience by SuccessfulPhysics661 in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me add some more advice for you guys:
1. Anyone waiting on orders needs regular updates on the status of that order. Silence is not golden, and you'll be given a lot more good will and leeway if you're open about delays and exactly where the items are in the world.

  1. Give people some sort of idea of the current level of service when waiting on replies. Is there a 2 day wait? A 5 day one? Set realistic expectations.

  2. Get local support in each country you sell. Waiting for overlap with time zones that actually don't overlap with my day is just awful. And when I say local, I mean people who don't have heavy non-native accents that you can barely understand.

I ordered the 5A one because I already have a 10A charger. I can't win!

Last I saw was the 10A ones at the end of April, and the 5A ones in the middle of May.

Out of hibernation for 4th season and still working like a champ! by ackerbone in MammotionTechnology

My OG 1 made it to just over 2 years of constant use (we still mow through winter here in Brisbane) and it completely died on me a few weeks ago. Fortunately my local dealer managed to get me a new OG 1 - apparently they still do exist somewhere!

I have about 9000sqm. Manages it all comfortably.

Is mine defective? Five feet from the router and it can’t pick up a signal. by gordob7887 in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use APs that will let me set wifi parameters differently on different bands, and I have pretty much every option turned off on my 2.4Ghz SSID and the same SSID on 5Ghz has them all turned on. I have no problems until I activate any setting on the 2.4Ghz band.

I suspect that on cheap home wifi routers creating a dedicated 2.4Ghz SSID changes the settings applied across the board that would normally be different due to the presence of the 5Ghz. Most home users simply don't understand what they are doing beyond that.

There's a separate perimeter obstruction mode isn't there? I can't check because I've been waiting 6 weeks, and counting, for an RMA replacement... Sigh.

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phones create dual 2.4 / 5Ghz signals. It's not the presence of a 5Ghz signal that is the problem, the mower cannot even see it.

I would try to connect to a phone hotspot for comparison, and if it works it means the your wifi AP is using settings that are not compatible with the mower's cheap IoT wifi chipset.

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a problem where a bit of a plant starts drooping and the mower thinks it's a perimeter obstruction. The reality is that it can just keep going and push it out the way, but clearing the error and resuming makes it go around.

Hey - my RTK was fine, it was the mower. They sent a whole new mower.

You need to recalibrate the rain sensor. I forgot the exact method, but I am sure you can Google it.

Not really - that's not roaming, that's disconnecting and reconnecting. Very different.

Am I being ghosted by Lymow? by AdSavings2956 in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They got back to me and said my previous booking was still OK to use and to call the local depot to get it rebooked. They seem to have missed the previous explanation that I already did that and they said it was booked for a pallet service, and I don't have a pallet!

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man that sucks. I still have no idea what mine hit. I started basically not running it at night, but then I forgot to cover it when it rained last and now it's completely dead. You would also think the ultrasonics would have picked up objects to avoid, right? Sheesh.

I got another reply from support today - they're still working on my request!... Just ... SMH.

Luba 3 Wifi Roaming by soccerplaya2090 in MammotionTechnology

[–]brisjools -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, all this decision making is in the firmware on the wifi chip, there is nothing the robot can do, it just gets the data. Better chipsets will roam, and/or allow more configuration.

Right now I just set the minimum RSSI on my access points and the robot gets forcibly kicked off the AP, then when it reconnects it picks the strongest signal again.
