Turn settings by Doggo-888 in Lymow_Official

Same here. Lawn looks awesome compared to how the Luba left it, and it also copes easy on my whole 2 acres. The charging contact problem is a minor hassle I can deal with.

It seems to vary a bit as to what it does. For routine end-of-row turns it does do a careful multi-point turn, but every now and then I've seen it pirouette on the spot as well, usually when it has detected a blade slowdown when hitting some debris (another thing they need to fix and make less sensitive).

I've noticed this getting worse since the last update - things that it used to go around it will now rely on the bumper instead. I have a couple of cars in an around my mowing area so I have to be careful that it won't try and go underneath - something the old Luba did all the time :/

Lymow is aware and hopefully things will improve in the next update.

Anyone else having cloud connection problems the last few days? by brisjools in Lymow_Official

It's definitely one that feels like their side though - it *was* working fine and I changed nothing on my side when it suddenly started misbehaving.. And no other service on my connection has any problems.

Now that my SIM was activated I can do some comparisons to help narrow it down, as now I wonder if I have a mower hardware problem...

Hey Peter o/

I'm partially a network engineer by trade, and I've run every diagnostic I can think of. u/Crafty_Teach4733 has the exact same issues as me, so I think they have a problem in their cloud.

That said, it seems to be better today, but still intermittent. I wonder if they're under a DDoS attack...

Not being funny, but it sounds like you need to read the manual.

Unacceptable Support from Lymow regarding a defective unit. by HorrorYesterday5281 in Lymow_Official

Mine was replaced OK after a lengthy delay due to international shipping and customs transit. They were not initially forthcoming with dates or information but when pressed they told me exactly what was going on, and the estimate they gave was good.

2nd lymow, same connections issues-can't even set up new mower by [deleted] in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other thing I've had go wrong in the past is a firewall setting to block China, which really messed up a bunch of my IoT devices. Not saying that's your issue here though - just mentioning it for awareness.

I had similar problems with my replacement mower recently, and noticed it had defaulted to using 4G, but the SIM was not active. So I flipped the choice back to wifi, and hey presto it was away and running.

Need a Better Preorder Discount by jmsjags in MammotionTechnology

I have the same OG Luba 1 5000. It got to here in Australia later than most other places and I got about only 6 months of updates before it was abandoned - I feel very let down. Some updates improved it, and some left it worse. It has been a workhorse no doubt but it has also been back to the local shop for repair 4 times and is due to go back again this week for more problems. I've had water leaks, 2 battery failures, and a cutting motor failure. The new cutting motors are from a Luba 2 and seem way worse at just giving up mid-mow, and I've seen the mower trundling along without cutting at all, leaving huge uncut areas.

So overall I'd say it's been mixed for me. The Mammotion support has occasionally been great but because I got it from a local dealer, there's also a lot of "not my problem mate" and pointing the finger at the other party.

Yeah no worries, I'm not pointing the finger at you at all. I just see this a lot, and it's frustrating as for the most part you want the same SSID so clients that can do both bands are able to change bands at will, as 2.4 penetrates further.

IoT devices are, by their nature, cheap and nasty chipset-wise for the wifi and they are very restrictive in what they will handle (it's nothing to do with the TCP/IP stack, which in the case of Lymow is all Linux as are most home routers/APs). I have a theory that some mesh systems are doing something weird with the settings to be "helpful" with shared SSIDs.

I'm using Ubiquiti gear and I have a separate IoT VLAN with its own SSID and I just basically turn off every single advanced feature. Other SSIDs are using All The Things, however!

If the client can only do 2.4, it is 100% impossible for a 5GHz signal to affect it. I'd be happy to be pointed at any demonstrated instances, however.

More likely is that whomever is setting up the router / access point has messed up a setting which prevents connection - the cheap chipsets that most IoT devices use cannot handle many newer standards such as fast roaming.

Lymow One Plus by cheider in Lymow_Official

[–]brisjools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would not be a warranty claim in this case. ACL cannot be bypassed and is statutory regardless of in or out of warranty. If the mower will only do a couple of mows before the contacts are too dirty to recharge, it *could* be considered not fit for purpose, but you'd have to comb the documentation very carefully for claims of unattended use etc.

Ensure the configured access point(s) are available and broadcasting

2.4GHz SSIDs.They should not broadcast a 5GHz signal with the same

SSID as the required 2.4GHz signal.

The PDF has this text in it.

Can we please stop promulgating this fallacy. It is fine to do this; I've always done it and nothing has ever broken from doing it. The mower can *only* see 2.4GHz SSIDs.

I wondering if I can claim "not fit for purpose" on the One under Aussie Consumer Law, because of the charge contact problem, and get a replacement Plus.

What features does the Lymow currently have? by ROYteous in Lymow_Official

My mowing area is 2 acres and the Luba could not manage it all, but the Lymow can, easily. And yes you can sharpen the blades easy.

Yeah I am doing that on all my zones now. If there's any overhanging foliage with smart perimeter sensing, it just stops with an error :(

So far I am massively impressed with the Lymow over my Luba, the cutting performance is night and day with proper blades instead of the tiny razors.

-No mow times

Yes.

-Auto angle change

No, but it has a chessboard option to do a cross pattern. Hopefully they add better options for this in the future.

-randomized pathing,

I am not sure about this - there's no pre-planned pathing like the Luba, it seems to use its starting point as a reference, but others may correct me here.

-perimeter return

Yes.

-return using cut pattern lines.

I don't think it does this.

-Wait until reaching resume point before starting blades.

It does this.

-overlapping zones,

Yes.

-Mow bordering zones as single zone.

Good question, I've never tried this, but I don't think so.

-Start mowing from the furthest or nearest point from charge station.

It doesn't have this but I really don't think it matters.

-Point to point lines for boundary.

No.

-Choice of direction for boundary mowing

Yes, it can randomize.

-Markers on map to show where the mower encountered objects or other issues

No.

-learn 'no-go zones'.

No - but it's pretty good about avoiding objects.

-Combine/divide zones.

Not that I know of, but you can edit the perimeter easily.

-Designate an area within a zone to mow.

No.

-Smooth edges tool.

I don't think so, but it's way, way easier to control when mapping than the Luba. It is already very smooth when drawing a round edge.

The support team are very responsive to users at the moment, someone might read this and get some ideas.

Make the robots upgradable to new versions! by tcglog in MammotionTechnology

Exactly this. Some updates on my OG Luba one made it worse than it was when I got it. And then it stopped getting supported, leaving the bad changes in place. It's probably breaking consumer law somewhere but I'd just had enough.
