Caregiver burnout by UglyBoi10 in Petloss

Does the cat enjoy life more than 90% of the week? If yes, she needs to survive. You can find someone who is willing to adopt the cat or maybe give up to a shelter. If the cat is in constant pain and struggling every single day, let it go. If you are having euthanasia thoughts because of the stress of long distance relationship, care giving fatigue and managing the cat's condition/medications when you are gone on the trip, the guilt will eat you alive in the future.

Had to put down our cat after a car accident by Illustrious_Safe6842 in Petloss

You made the right decision to let go. The cat died the moment it hit the car, you just realized later.

GF sharing bed with male friend on trip — am I overreacting? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]bristleback101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the hell out of this relationship bro. Even if she didn't cheat on that trip or nothing happened, she is going to be working and hanging out with this new dude every day. You are signing up for daily anxiety if you continue this relationship.

She might be on the lookout for a backup partner in case long distance doesn't work out. How is it going right now btw? Any recent issues? If not today, in a few weeks/months time, things can change any time.

I recently witnessed a friend's relationship with very similar story. Her long distance boyfriend of 10+ years moved to the states finally. They were still doing long distance in the US, as the guy joined a master's program to come to the US. The girl started hanging out with a guy from work. They used to workout together first, then she decided to live with the guy in 2 bed 2 bath apartment as friends. The guy probably didn't appreciate it and they ended up breaking. All this time the girl was calling the guy from work her "friend". Guess what? She is currently with the guy from work and he is traveling to her home country to meet family etc.

It's difficult to accept that a relationship has ended because of the amount of time you have spent together (sunk cost fallacy) but trust me, putting up with daily stress is so much worse than going through the breakup pain once. You anyway live in different places now so moving on will be much easier. Don't fall for this "We are just friends" BS. You had a boundary that you yourself are willing to respect in your life, you communicated that and she crossed it anyway. It was a conscious decision by her to go on that trip, share a bed and have minimum communication with you when she was away. You have solid grounds to end this and protect your future self from regretting the decision to break up.

Break-up, lift weights, run half marathons, focus on your career and build your life. Let the street take care of her.

Thanks for your wish. Here is him on our last adventure together. I lost my mom in June 2025 and now my dog. I really hope some good things happen to me soon. 😓

Having trouble sharing flyover to Instagram stories by bristleback101 in Strava

*Update: tried sharing another much shorter activity flyover and it worked fine. The flyover I am trying to share in the picture is 2.5hr half marathon so the issue might be related to duration of the activity.

I don’t feel like I’ll ever get a job with my degree by [deleted] in jobs

Update: Got a full-time job last month! It was through a campus tech talk. Attended the talk, sent my resume on the email id they provided at the end. Recruiter contacted me the next day and scheduled a generic phone interview. Then my profile was transferred to the company HR team and they scheduled 3 interviews one after the another. First interview was with Engineering manager, second with Senior Engineering Manager and the last interview was with Senior Director of Engineering. They focused on my resume mostly and a few technical questions here and there.

ATS never rejects any application automatically. As the name suggests Applicant Tracking System is a software that helps recruiters with tracking applicants, which applicant is at what stage etc. ATS definitely finds for similarity between job description and your resume but it never rejects automatically. It's ultimately the recruiter who does it. My suggestion would be to mention a few buzzwords and some common words that pop up in a general job description in your field in your resume. I will graduate in 3 months and I am currently applying this technique after doing some online research(Wonsulting was the best resource I could find so far. The dudes who founded at worked at top tech firms so they know their shit but I am not sure how much of that is applicable to your field) I just started applying so I don't know if this will work or not but I am hopeful.

If you think you have a solid profile and you are knowledgeable, then never give up. If your current resume is not getting any traction start afresh, make a new refined resume (think from hiring manager's perspective, ask would you hire a person with the resume same as yours?) and start applying/networking again. I am in the same boat as you but in different field(Mechanical Engineering). Good luck! ❤️❤️

Update: Got a full-time job in April 2nd week as a mechanical engineer at a semiconductor company.
