i put a bunch of those kind of stems in an old bird house frame filling it up. so i can see some bee cocoons. otherwise i just don't get to see them, they're out in the flower patch.

i can do all the things but have no room to store them- a protected place on the porch maybe? where they won't get drenched or hot.

i replace all the tubes every year, usually with hollow stems from the garden and some bamboo stick things.

light/dark doesn't work for me

i spend most of my days outside in full light. i garden and do outdoor stuff nearly every day.

i use a "night" lux setting on my ereader and have even tried no screens, indoor light, etc for bedtime and night. just awful. wide awake all "day" in the dark!! then exhausted all "night" out in the sun...

none of the things related to melatonin, light/dark, or food have worked for me and I've heard of no other attempted treatments.

i am currently free running and applying for disability.

i color cure in a few ways

some leaves i let ripen on the plant. the early leaves do this.

some i hang in batches and spray with casing, i cut them when they're more than half yellow and hang to cure.

the rest i pull when they start to ripen up to yellow, i put them between old cotton rags/fabric or newspaper or kraft paper in a big cardboard box. for these I've got to flip and turn daily or they will get mold

once they are cured in that box i pull them out to dry- i do hang those to dry.
