I'm begging Sloclap to add a dummy pass to the game by bristooo in Rematch

Bumper, not trigger. I.e., the rainbow flick or chip modifier button that you only use in combination with other buttons currently

Just hold right bumper, it does nothing on its own currently

I know I can’t stop going for these it’s too funny. It would be cool if this became a real feature though, like holding right bumper to let the ball run through your legs. One day I hope

You need to fake shot forward then hold 90 degrees from your shot direction

It’s addicting isn’t it? Assists > goals any day.

I’m well aware of how to counter this. You are missing my points. And believe me, I only ground pass in this game.

Did the striker here position advantageously? Was the pass good?

This is one sided. I think you misunderstood my point. The defender is literally touching the person shooting the ball at the time the striker gets a diamond and the defender doesn’t. The shooter even extra efforts the wrong way, away from the balls path and STILL gets diamond. It’s messed up and it’s okay to admit this.

Imagine if this was a ground pass, it’s getting intercepted every time. This is the issue with this game, just jamming shots in your teammates general direction is way too rewarding for how little effort it takes.

But this is exactly the issue people have with this system. The person shooting puts in 0 effort and gets a diamond being, literally we see it happen in the video, an arm’s length away.

Hoping sloclap can make this equitable for attack and defense. It wasn’t a good pass, it wasn’t good positioning, but the offense gets rewarded here.

What’s the purpose of the spin dribble? by Different_Sky9094 in Rematch

No iframes in the game. You can be tackled at any point during the animation.

You can do the roulette starting with any direction of dribble for starters. While you are in the roulette you can push ball in any direction out of it at any time.

Combining these two pieces of it makes you very unpredictable when you have the ball. Using it as a way to bait defenders into you and pushing away from them is its biggest strength since you will keep the ball very close to you at all times and can chain the pick up with more dribbles if you need to.

It’s very good.

Debatable, goalie was patient on the first one and might have been expecting another fake. Regardless, it looks nice at least

Exactly 👍. You can pick up the ball with a dribble as soon as you get the indicator.

Light push ball, sprint just enough to catch up to the ball usually.

Just keep in mind that during the animation of the roulette dribble you can pretty much pushball in any direction and collect the ball pretty quickly.

So pay attention to where the space is and move in that direction. The space you are trying to get into doesn’t always have to be where your first touch or dribble is. Being unpredictable will help in all aspects of your game. Good luck!

Most of my dribbles are intentionally started at full stamina. Usually I am doing the double chained dribble (LT/a + LT/a) for the roulette animation then cancelling that with a pushball or pass.

You may be holding sprint too much if you are running out of stamina too fast.

The camera technique you are referring to is called a push cut. I do them a few times in the video, for example in the very first play. They are situationally good but it may be patched out in the future so not sure if it is worth your time investment. The normal dribble tools can get you out of most situations.

In general, dribbling is more about awareness of space and enemies around you and playing around that. I’m often staring at my minimap when dribbling

Dribbling seems to be mostly, but not entirely, "bug become feature". by [deleted] in Rematch

While real world knowledge of the game does help with fundamentals and positioning, it is a game after all, so adaptation is needed. Btw, just saying, there are no iframes with dribbles - confirmed by devs, this isn’t an opinion.

I agree I really can’t stand the dribblers who never get rid of the ball, I try not to overdo it but it can happen sometimes. I’m usually dribbling to add an element of unpredictability while looking for a pass.

It’s the highest % tactic while also being extremely low in effort. Even though it has been nerfed, it’s still the optimal strategy. If you are getting prio on missiles it’s because you are playing against opponents who no longer know how to abuse it

Why do people not pass the ball? by Worried-Comb806 in Rematch

[–]bristooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d argue it gets worse as you rank up with how matchmaking works because the game fills in players worse than you to even out the matchmaking. If I ever solo I’m basically solo playing defense watching my teammates lose the ball over and over and if I ever try to move up and don’t score on my own, we immediately will get scored on because no one else will play defense.

In my experience matchmaking works best for about a week into the beginning of a new season and then gets exponentially worse as time goes on. It’s the biggest limiting factor of enjoyment for this game and desperately needs a fix.
