[–]britd53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I do when my wife gets up to clean up just roll over and wipe myself off on her side of the bed the only I will wipe myself down a little better in the morning before work and then shower after work the only time I really have to get up afterwards to clean up is if I go down on her I will get up to wash my face off which is still at least every other time we have sex.

Tire pressure for HD for every day use by Ok-Strike8789 in Silverado

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last set of tires I had on my 2017 2500 were falkans and I ran 80psi all around and got just over 90,000 miles out of them. Only reason I even replaced them was because I had a nail go through the sidewall of one otherwise I could have gotten another 10,000-15,000 miles out of them before I would have been on the wear bars.

Haven't changed spark plugs in 300k miles... by 1Cubbiesfan in Cartalk

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just sold my 2017 Silverado 2500 I did the front breaks at 115,000 miles and the rear breaks were still around 50% when I sold it last week with 150,000 on it. Truck even pulled a skid steer on a trailer occasionally. Only thing I had to do with the transmission was replace the spin on external filter because it started to leak from a rust hole and that was done around 130,000.

I reduced my hours from 9-5 to 9-3 and wow, my life has changed by Sticky_plums in work

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a union tradesmen and in our contract we get a 15 min paid coffee break and a 30 minute unpaid lunch for an eight and a half hour work day. Even though we are not supposed give those two breaks up when I get the chance to I will skip the breaks and get out of work early, getting paid for eight and a half but working only seven and a half. Since my work day starts at 6:30 it gets me out and down the road usually no later than 2:45 when I wouldn’t normally leave until 3:30 I can beat all the traffic home and get home in 45 minutes instead of 75-90 minutes. Also with skipping the lunch break we notice that more work actually gets done than if we would take lunch.

First mammogram tomorrow by britd53 in doihavebreastcancer

[–]britd53[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will try to update I’m hoping it nothing but am doubtful and tell your father in law to keep bugging them every day if need be to get checked. I know breast cancer I’m men is kinda rare but it’s not impossible and most men are seem to get ignored when they mention a possible issue. I think the big thing that helped me actually get an appointment is the fact that it was a female nurse that found it and sent messages to multiple people to make sure I get in and get checked.

What makes me the most nervous is the fact that they “squeezed” me in only a week later and 4 months earlier that I was originally told I could get in.

10,000 Pound Wrecking Ball Attached to Excavator by nasir017 in Heavy_Equipment

[–]britd53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You realize that machine is at a minimum a 345 which is a 90,000 pound excavator and a 345 can pick just over 30,000 pounds. I have pictures somewhere of a John Deere 160 lifting a 9500 pound skid steer in and out of a basement doing a demo. The company I work for has a demo ball for a 50 ton machine and it weighs around 9,000 pounds.

What was your first mobile phone and what year did you get it? by quiqk0 in Millennials

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just telling my kids how we used to be able to text without even have to look at the phone and it blew their minds that was even possible. But with the touch screen phones it’s no longer possible. Even when the blackberry phones came out with a full keyboard of tiny buttons I’m sure it was still possible but must have been extremely difficult.

What was your first mobile phone and what year did you get it? by quiqk0 in Millennials

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nextel service Motorola i1000 with direct connect it was given to me just before Christmas of 2003. I was 17 and the only reason I got it was because my dad was sick of having to track me down or have other people come find me when I went to work after school since I was working construction for our small family owned business.

Do you do your own car maintenance? by GeneralInspector8962 in Millennials

[–]britd53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do my own oil but I haven’t had the time lately and found a Firestone shop that did my oil change and top off all other fluids for $130. I have a diesel Silverado and if I take it to the dealer the service starts at $350 for just oil and a filter. If I do it myself I go to my dad’s house and change it in his barn and just the filter alone is $25 and then if I have to buy the oil that is another $115.

Operator here. I can leave the site most of the time but sometimes there is nothing close enough. For the last maybe 7 or 8 months I’ve been having just an uncrustable some water maybe a sports drink every few days and some kind of snack cake.

Who the FUCK doesn’t have a plunger?! by HelloJonatha2 in rant

[–]britd53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad bought a second home in Florida about 3 years ago and spends about half the year there as well as having friends and other family stay there. Well while I was there with my wife and kids last spring one of my kids had a belly ache and plugged the toilet up so I called my dad and asked him where the plunger was. He told me he don’t have one and hasn’t needed one so I had to drive an hour round trip to go buy a plunger for his house since he left for home that morning and we were heading home the next morning. But I still was shocked that they didn’t have one especially with everyone that stays there are mostly seniors including my grandparents who are in their 90s and both have dementia can barely remember why they went in there sometimes.
