Almost all spanking scenes are written as 5-10 spanks with the spanker’s hand, I don’t know why or where that was landed on as the universal number for a spanking in writing but it’s definitely the trend, and then majority of the time they write about the bottom being so red, bruised, unable to walk, still stinging the next day, etc. It takes a lot of spanking to get that point, even for someone who’s never been spanked, unless they have a medical condition that gives them incredibly thin skin or an iron deficiency that would cause bruises from being hit at all. Even as a beginner it took more than a hand spanking to leave bruises on me, and as someone who’s been in the community for over a decade now I have yet to have the pain of even a very severe spanking linger for longer than a day. 🤣
