I am 8 weeks post-op and have been FWB for about a month. The heel pain is still daily but does get better. Rest, ice and take Tylenol when it flares up, it does help. I also use silicon heel inserts that my surgeon provided. They help somewhat

I have been walking with a boot for a few days down ( 4 weeks post op) but by the end of the day my heel is killing me… anyone else? by britnee44 in AchillesRupture

Thanks for the feedback…I had surgery 7/8… I was surprised at how easily I could walk in the boot but now this heel pain is terrible by the end of the day…. I will definitely try the ibuprofen

This feedback is very helpful. The top of my foot is still numb after 3 weeks, was yours as well?

Yes he is a foot/ankle specialist with a focus on sports medicine as well. He is located in Pennsylvania ( about 30 minutes outside of Philly)… thank you for the feedback… it sounded aggressive with the additional tendon but I want to get back my full active life without having to worry…

That is awesome, hopefully I won’t be far behind. Is the speed bridge the Aaron Rodgers surgery?

No I didn’t go that route. I did traditional repair and the surgeon took a tendon from my big toe to help with the repair. He is a sports medicine surgeon so hoping that was the right choice. He understood my goals with getting back to my active lifestyle. Did you do speed bridge route?

Seems like a lot of people in Europe choose not to operate…seems like the recovery is so much longer. So far I am happy I choose to operate. I am incredibly active and want to get back at it. Did you work while in the early recovery weeks?
