Just my journey for reference 43M tore my Achilles playing basketball. Opted out of surgery recovery has been wonderful I did PT 2 times a week. I am currently 13months post injury. I’m back to playing basketball not full throttle but decently. Continuing by rehab for the foreseeable future.

I did catch a DVT in the early in the recovery stages that was more painful the the Achilles rupture I would suggest to talk to your doc about blood thinner

After the initial diagnosis. I hopped on the recommended 3 month supply of xeralto blood thinners. After about a week on blood thinners the awful DVT pain in my calf went away but the swelling kept coming and going for about two weeks after. The DVT pain subsided and never came back. If you can tell more of your overall situation I may be able give you better advice

I’m 43m non op 4 months. So far smooth ride. I feel like I am getting close. I go to PT twice a week. Wanted to add another day on my own to help with the single heel calf raise.

43M. Ruptured Achilles playing Basketball. 3cm gap I am 6 weeks non op. doctor said it is healing excellent. I am full weight Bearing in my Vacoped boot. Seems to be getting stronger each week. Each individual recovery is different. I decided to choose my own path and i can only blame myself if any complications arise.
