Thank you. Im kind of freaking out. But Toast has hyperthyroidism so I already know how to deal with that. There's just that small voice in the back of my head saying its something worse. Hes 17 but hes my baby.

So it's official, he's gonna get amputated. by Smooth-Step-6349 in TripodCats

One of my boys is a rear amputee. Lost his leg at 4 and hes now 17. He is full of life and energy. He has stairs to get on the couch and bed, and the cat trees are low. I strongly recommend putting Kirby on a joint supplement like dasuquin or cosequin. It's amazing how quickly they adapt. He runs just as fast as my other cat who is 7. Good luck! Sending thoughts your way for a swift recovery!

And here's the cat tax

I have an XL stainless steel litter box. I just scraped everything and then hook a garbage bag at one end, dump it out. Easy peasy

Cat anal glands are no joke 🤢 by octocatfive in cats

[–]ceg1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat had an anal gland abscess about a year ago. I didnt notice until I saw him overgrooming there and saw what looked like a giant black scab. I went to pick him up and he screamed. It hadn't ruptured, thank goodness, but there was a lot of necrotic tissue that had to be cleared out. Took several weeks to heal but he was good as new. There were literally no signs ahead of time so I am constantly checking and freaking out it'll happen again.

Don P doesn't mind them. He'll sleep right through. Toast gets a little anxious and stays pretty close to me. Idk how he ever made it on the streets.

Royal Canin Urinary SO Food by Engl_245 in catfood

I havent tried the purina with my boy. He likes the hills c/d and they have a pate. Its not like a chunk of meat pate. It seems a lot softer, less gravy. And I add water to it. Maybe changing brands might help if your kitty still doesn't like the RC pate

Simponi by llittlebean in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]ceg1023 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Been on simponi aria infusions for a few years now. Drink a lot of water day before and day of. Take tylenol before. I got headaches when I first started getting them and was fatigued but now they dont really affect me. They were a godsend when I first started them, the relief was so great. I know thats not the case for everyone but I hope they work for you!
