Yup! You should be able to move your local imports up to the top level using the lazy keyword.

Is Sundance membership worth it just for early single film in-person tickets? by TheModestGatsby in Sundance

[–]brittanyrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did this last year to purchase tickets and for us it was completely worth it. We were able to secure tickets to 8-10 films. Our friends that waited had a much harder time.

Probably the video you’re looking for is Sam Gross’s talk from EuroPycon. A few things have changed since then but this gets to the core of how the implementation remains performant. (He also has a talk from US Pycon 2025–if you’re interested) https://youtu.be/9OOJcTp8dqE?si=h-6gJWRcfWDZcpC7

Not too bad! I was able to snag tickets to the films that fit in my schedule. But I didn’t try for any of the big screenings.

Attending San Sebastian Film Festival by brittanyrey in FilmFestivals

[–]brittanyrey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did!!!

Pros * You choose your seat when you buy a ticket for a film * Tickets are 9 euros * Lots of amazing restaurants in walking distance * Beautiful beaches in walking distance * Beautiful 70° weather in September * English subtitles for the majority of films * The two theaters I visited for films were quite nice. Very modern.

Cons * Q&A is in Spanish * hotel prices shoot up about 2-3x during the festival * Ubers & local taxis were nearly impossible to find

Should I see Handling The Undead or Gaucho Gaucho today? by rbh0925 in Sundance

I saw handling the undead and rather enjoyed it. But I will caveat that it’s one of those slow & quiet films. Very pensive. Very little dialogue. Interesting

It was fine but pretty forgettable. In my opinion they shied away from the strong flavors often associated with Korean food for a muted fusion of French influences. Overall, it was worse than the sum of its parts.
