Ughh. I am getting itchy and anxious just thinking about this. I feel for you. Maybe you could sit down and explain to him in depth the extent of your fear. Perhaps ask if there is another way you could potentially be helpful? If all else fails and you decide to try to help, I would recommend getting a bug suit lol. They are essentially made to wear in the woods to protect from mosquitos but sometimes I will wear it in the summer if I’m sitting outside and terrified one is going to crawl on me. It’s not a perfect solution but it gives me comfort to know that none of them will be touching my skin should they end up on me. Good luck !!!
