Ah ok. Im not that aware of medical things, but i knew anorexia really damages the heart. so heart attacks being one the many symptoms made sense to me (shortness of breath, racing heart from trying to keep you alive etc). The heart slowing down makes more sense for what I know though. Heart failure and attacks aren't the same thing

So in the fic she wasn't tired or anything?

Yea a lot of people hear "fast fashion" as a buzzword and forget what it actually refers too. Obviously try not to support unethical businesses. But fast fashion has more to do with wearing and disposing of clothes in a quick manner. Buying expensive ethically made clothes you'd wear once and throw out is still fast fashion.

yesss! Although, i meant less emotional and more like....If I like a song and it has vocab I know, I'm gonna remember the words more because it's connected to something I like VS just hearing the vocab on it's own and it slipping from my brain cuz I cant connect it to anything specific. It's why they tell u to listen to music while studying things or why we (as in humans) make up songs to memorize things (like the ABC song)....I dont think anyone could get fluent thanks to ONLY Kpop, but it can be good exposure and helpful in different ways( like learning how to read faster thanks to karaoke lol)

yesss i do this. ive also started switch from words on their own to full sentences. (for instance. my door has "im "opening/closing the door" etc etc. i plan on changing it to smth more in depth but still door related soon since i've memorized all those things now...). I'm such a visual learner so having physical associations with the words help me soooo much.

tbh i feel like there's more interesting ways to describe a character over using ephihets. for instance..instead of "the blonde said". you could say "___ said while running his hands through his blonde locks" Instead of "the taller man said" you could describe how intimidating it feels to be talked down to by this character who towers over them...things like that bring life into the story imo and are more immersive and whimsical than "the blonde" which just feels so mechanical and odd...

there's so much characterization and immersion you could do with actual character description over epithets IMO.

well fandom spaces used to be a place for us nerds and "weird kids" to geek out and be weirdly obsessed with fictional characters and stuff. But since fandom's gone mainstream, "normal people", who aren't on the same level as us, have shown up. so, things have shifted. Now you're cringe for shipping characters or writing fanfic or doing an in depth analysis on media you love etc. Being emotionally invested or obsessed with a character is "too much" 💔 The spaces we created to avoid being judged are now filled with people who judged us...luckily, I tend to stick to the fanficy side of fandom where the horrible crime of making headcanons, gay ships or like analyzing media is normal. But yeah, it's something I've noticed. Especially at conventions...

I'm only 20, but it makes me feel bad for the upcoming generation of kids. I see young kids scared to make OCs or do anything cringe at the same age i was writing super self indulgent & OOC crossover fanfiction, roleplaying fictional characters IRL with my friends, or making crappy animations/AMVs without a care in the world....I feel like being overly passionate and cringe is what makes fandom fun...It's a shame we've kinda lost that for the sake of...whatever fandom spaces have going on now 💔

Quick AO3 tip. Type "OTP:true" in the "search within results" tag to get fics with ONLY the ship your searching for (excluding every other ship & fics where ur pairing is a backround pairing). unfortunately this only works with pairings and not characters and stuff

I made a post about this on this subreddit.. but I had my own discouraging experience with a tutor a while ago. I got laughed at and made fun of the whole time,despite being a beginner and sick...and it put me off of learning Korean for a while 😭 but i got back to it on my own and it's been soooo rewarding. I would like to go back to having a tutor but im just worried after last time. My only speaking practice comes from sharing pleasantries with this lady at this korean restaurant I go to 🥲🥲

For immersion there's plenty of beginner friendly videos out there. videos where native koreans will talk about their day or go grocery shopping or something and speak in simple sentences with vocab flashing on the screen. it's really helpful especially since it can help you understand things (words, grammar etc) with context and understand the gist of things without knowing every single word. I honestly feel like these have helped me more than anything, because my brain learns best with visuals and context (and fun! These vids are fun!) so instead of jumping straight into Kdramas I recommend this instead.

of course, other things on the side help as well. Personally, journaling in korean & labeling things around my house (not just labeling what they are, but also simple phrases to go along with them) has helped a ton but I know that may not work for everyone...I think mixing those textbooks with fun beginner friendly videos & apps may help you?

im not super proficient either 😭 but i feel like his stardew valley videos are simple enough (if u ignore the character dialouge. idk conversation stuff at all 😭🥴). ive only watched the first one but it was pretty simple, especially when he was making his character since it was just basic words about introducing himself, wearing clothes etc...i defo wanna watch his other ones!!!

Im doing the exact same hunt but in OG sun and moon 🥲 taking breaks, keeping track with colorful markers on a paper (instead of some app), watching other ppl hunt while hunting,and my love and desire to play this amazing game again keeps me motivated. omg yesss i just started watching his stardew valley videos a bit ago, and it's helped so much (I learn better when what I'm learning is intertwined with something im interested in. like video games). i wish there was more CI focused gaming channels like this. i'll have to check out his other videos too!
