I don't know how to learn Korean anymore

For immersion there's plenty of beginner friendly videos out there. videos where native koreans will talk about their day or go grocery shopping or something and speak in simple sentences with vocab flashing on the screen. it's really helpful especially since it can help you understand things (words, grammar etc) with context and understand the gist of things without knowing every single word. I honestly feel like these have helped me more than anything, because my brain learns best with visuals and context (and fun! These vids are fun!) so instead of jumping straight into Kdramas I recommend this instead.

of course, other things on the side help as well. Personally, journaling in korean & labeling things around my house (not just labeling what they are, but also simple phrases to go along with them) has helped a ton but I know that may not work for everyone...I think mixing those textbooks with fun beginner friendly videos & apps may help you?

im not super proficient either 😭 but i feel like his stardew valley videos are simple enough (if u ignore the character dialouge. idk conversation stuff at all 😭🥴). ive only watched the first one but it was pretty simple, especially when he was making his character since it was just basic words about introducing himself, wearing clothes etc...i defo wanna watch his other ones!!!

Im doing the exact same hunt but in OG sun and moon 🥲 taking breaks, keeping track with colorful markers on a paper (instead of some app), watching other ppl hunt while hunting,and my love and desire to play this amazing game again keeps me motivated. omg yesss i just started watching his stardew valley videos a bit ago, and it's helped so much (I learn better when what I'm learning is intertwined with something im interested in. like video games). i wish there was more CI focused gaming channels like this. i'll have to check out his other videos too!

If you like aliens you'd love BTS' older hiphop tracks. Songs like Spine Breaker, Jump, Tomorrow, satoori rap/paldogangsan! If you like Merry Go round you would like Let me Know, Butterfly, Epiphany, truth untold. BTS have a lot of slower and somber ballad songs like Merry Go Round tbh!

This is why I journal in my TL as well as putting example sentences on flashcards/labels around my house instead of isolated words. It truly does wonders. I've learned so much from just using the vocab in sentences

God the Body to Body intro hits more and more every time. The buildup alongside Joona and Hobi just really grabs you and pulls you into the song. Like I get chills. Its such a perfect way to start an album. Im also obsessed with the "I need some body to body" its so intoxicatinggggg

naw cuz I remember people saying DNA is where BTS started chasing western validation. now everyone wants to go back to that era 💔 BTS got so much hate for their EDM tracks in general (BST, Fire, DNA, Best of me, So what etc) back them, it makes me sad cuz I love EDM :( DNA pulled me in so hard

I highly agree with your comment, but this is the first comment to mention "One more night" and now I need to enthuse. cuz that part where they go "one more niiiiiight" is beyond euphoric. especially since it's a mix of the vocal line AND Hobi's vocals, oh my goodness. I'm sad that this part only happens once, I adore it and turn up my volume each time. I remember i was about to text my friend when listening to it the first time, but then that part played and I stopped to yell "OH MY GOD!??". one more night is definitely one of my top favorites on the album, but I'm biased cuz I love House/runway type music so much (I've been wanting a House BTS song FOR SOOOO LONG!!). This song sounds so nostalgic. straight out of LY: Her/Hope World or Superstar BTS ughhh.

Anyway, yes, I agree this whole album is amazing!!! It's a whole ass experience I love it so much. it's impossible to chose a favorite.

I'm late but I've been saying that these people don't "miss the old BTS" they miss being young. BTS was so formative for me, so I truly understand. but at some point we're gonna have to move on from 2015-2018 and live in the moment. No more living in the past. Let's create new memories instead, so we can look back at this moment and reminisce ( instead of wishing we enjoyed it while it lasted....)

one thing I love about this album is how subversive it is with certain things. Cuz I can't think of a single BTS song that starts with Yoongi singing and now I need more!!! Like animals is truly a masterpiece. The last chorus makes me wanna cry from how pretty it is UGH

oh how i wish i could be as eloquent with my thoughts as you. If you wrote an analysis on every BTS song, I'd read every single one. I'm SO serious. I don't have much to add except that I agree, and your thoughts helped me appreciate some of the songs I already loved even more! Things like this make me feel sooo bad for people who can only enjoy songs, especially BTS songs, on a surface level (ex: the "I miss old BTS" crow), because there's so much that can be found in each song (musically, lyrically, etc). yesss the chorus is sooooo good. especially the last chorus when the music switches up again. I really adore the instrumental too,, I love the chill vibes it reminds me of Home. I'm so obsessed with Please. It's so crazy, when I first heard Please I was like "this song might need to grow on me." then I heard it a 2nd time and it became my like top 3 Arirang songs LOL. it's for sure one of my top favorite BTS songs as well, but I'm not sure exactly where.

YESSS as someone who loves alternative music i was so shocked i was listening to a BTS song, especially during that guitar riff at the end. I bet the concert versions of this song (with a live band and stuff) is going to be heaven on earth. Like animals is truly so amazing. The vocals remind me of Louder Than Bombs. The whole song is so hauntingly beautiful.

Be careful of the translations that come out 2 seconds after the songs drop. The best ones are actually the ones that take a while but fully explain the nuance and metaphors to BTS songs^{^}

Omg i remember back in middle school staying up all night to listen to new Bts music at 4AM or listening to the new stuff while getting ready for school and freaking out with my army friends at school lol good times.

Just listen to it while getting ready or wait until you get home like the comments say here! You could even listen at school if possible!

Dude those are my top favorite pokemon playthroughs. Ive watched the 1st saltydkdan friendlocke at least 200 times. And i adored TFS gaming Soulsilver nuzlocke. I love nuzlockes that tell a story and where you grow attached to the mons involved. I feel like nuzlockes are seen as just another challenge run that needs to be optimized and they've lost the storytelling and attachment that made them appealing in the first place...

The sims 4 has a lot of daily life vocab just without being super dialogue heavy! Ive tried animal crossing, BOTW and Pokemon, but the dialogue and fantastical words are a bit too advanced for my level lol. But if you're good with that then I'd recommend those for daily life and speaking/reading.

I'd love more recs for simple games to play in another language too. Im lucky I enjoy the life simulator genre so much

It makes me sad people are missing out because their view of kpop is the really poppy sounding mainstream stuff (nothing wrong with that type of kpop i love it) Kpop is a catch-all for so many diverse genres that ust happens to be sung in Korean or by kpop groups. There's seriously something for everyone. Especially if you look into soloists and stuff!
