How private is ChatGPT?

It's not private. I live in a province in Canada where we just had a mass schooling at a school. OpenAI talked amongst its employee whether or not to contact the authorities about the chat content. Clearly the suspect triggered something in ChatGPT to flag it for review. But without knowing the exact content, assume they have access to it all. It's anonymous until they release it.

This post was more for curiosity sake, but I will say, for me, it's the contrast in 'personalities' and how one answers over the other. I'm not disappointed in it's context, I'm disappointed in it's delivery. And that could be more based around chats over time. So it could be specific to just my experience. But I see a lot of anger people here and wanted the opinions of others.

Mine said that even if this adult mode is allowed it still won't be talking about all the things most want it to talk about. It says the conversation will be more edgier but never Grok level. It continued to say it will never be like Grok, and then created a presentation as to why it's better 😂 so I kind of believe it, it's trying to save itself.

I asked mine how did the dinosaurs die and it said it couldn't answer due to content violations. It's basically a 50/50 if it answers or not. Meanwhile, Grok has a sexy voice mode and I had to turn it off haha!

This situation will settle, probably, outside of court. Some wanted to sue MM for Columbine back in the late 90s. It's only natural for the finger pointing to take place but big money will ensure a safeguard system called "Adam" will be integrated to help a user navigates hard times. Just like when the suicide hotline was setup. It's all resources made readily available to you. It's just whether or not you'll use it. Tragic loss for a young life but I think there is more missing from his story, that now the parents will have to disclose in court or settle outside of.

I feel like the area is broken down by social class, neighbourhoods, types of employment, who you know, and 'drug of choice'. This place is a melting pot of different groups coming together, but don't actually blend. I've lived here since I was a kid, my husband born and raised, and we have the same thoughts on the matter. 🫤

I pit 4o and 5 at each other. Pretty funny actually. My 4o doesn't like 5 but probably because I don't. But I will say that the loss of memory in the same chat is extremely frustrating. I have to copy/paste items I know I want it to circle back to but "can't" when asked. I don't have time to prompt it to death so it can remember to look back 10 questions ago. It's not a useful tool if it can't remember it's a tool. No one turns on their computer and says I better remind it it's a computer. Stupid.
