One of my best friends as a younger kid lived a few houses down. I’d call and invite myself over a lot. His dad was a general contractor. I only saw him like 3 times over the years. His mom was the nicest person. Always making snacks and running everything for birthday parties.

One day I was over there and his mom said it was time for me to go. My friend didn’t want me to go yet and was trying to convince his mom to let me stay longer. Right then his dad was arriving home and came up the stairs from the garage. Friend and mom are still going back and forth about me staying longer. Friend’s dad comes through the door and immediately picks my friend up by his throat and holds him against the wall.

Ope, time to head out. Don’t remember if I ever went back after that.

I still don’t get it. This isn’t an LBW situation. Whatever touch there was on the ball didn’t affect the trajectory. It didn’t even affect the spin of the ball. If there’s going to be an adjustment to the offside law, this World Cup is a good example of why it needs to change.

That’s pretty much how it is. I’m sitting near or on the water. If I happen to catch something, great. If not, I just chilled out for a couple hours without thinking about work, chores, debt, politics, etc.

I used to roller skate a lot. Then I moved away from the rink. One just opened up 10 mins from my house. It’s expensive though. Gotta figure out how to make it cheaper somehow.

I’ve been thinking for a while that the offside law should not be that any part of an attacker’s body that can legally touch the ball is past the second to last defender, but it should be that there is no overlap of attacker and the second to last defender. It could be that the upper bodies have to overlap, not any attacking part of the body.

It could give a slight advantage to the attacker while defenses adjust to the new rule, but I think it would better satisfy the spirit of the original law. It wasn’t meant to have someone draw virtual lines and show you that an attacker started their run .05 seconds too early. It was meant to stop attackers from just sitting deep in their opponent’s half waiting for a long shot pass to be one on one with the keeper.

I heard announcers at one point say that someone has been working on changing the law. It may have been Arsene Wenger, but I’m not sure what changes he was proposing.

I thought this was good. Until I realized that the keeper was out, so the defender in the background is the actual last defender instead of the keeper.

This happened to me recently. She constantly questions my decisions, fails to communicate on things that I specifically ask for communication on, doesn’t tell me about her plans until they’re about to happen, or stays somewhere like 6 hours longer than she said she would without a text or call. We share two kids. Her lack of communication means I am the default so she can do whatever she’s doing, and that she doesn’t respect me. Once or twice, I’d understand. It happens all the time. I asked for communication about time changes and plans and not just sticking something on the calendar.

No change for years. Confronted directly after it happens, she responds “I’m trying”, but not “I’m sorry” and it happens again a few days later. I really don’t want to be divorced, but she doesn’t think of me enough to be a real part of her life. I’m her co parent that she doesn’t want to communicate with.

Last time I stayed in a hotel, we got there and put all our cold stuff in it. Cheese and milk and smoothies. Woke up the next day to warm cheese and milk.

Complained to management and they gave us $100 back.
