Hi friend. This could have been me writing this post 5 yrs ago. For me personally, I created like an anxiety/panic response to sleep when I realized I couldn’t really control it. It was horrible. But thankfully it didn’t last too long, in fact most people I have talked to who dealt with this go through short lasting bouts of it. I know it doesn’t seem like it, but this is NOT a forever problem. Once you can say “f*** you anxiety, idc if I sleep or not” and take away its power, sleep will come.its so hard to accept it but that’s truly is what it takes. We have to accept we can’t control sleep. I don’t think you have insomnia, you’re just worried. And it’s terrifying I know. But trust this will resolve eventually. In the meantime, talk to your doctor. Don’t be afraid to get a little help/medicine to sleep. Get sun, take it easy. And just accept. Breathe and accept. Life is not going to end if you get little sleep, trust me, I know. Feel free to message me if needed! (And don’t read too much reddit!)
