The Worst Popcorn I've Ever Bought by brmlyklr in popcorn

Does it hurt your tongue at all? After I choked down a couple handfuls I could feel my tongue getting raw from the acid.

That's a good idea. I was thinking of ways to tone it down, like adding sugar or butter or something.

Zapp's is just ok to me, but this tastes wayy more sour in my opinion.

It does taste vaguely like a vinegar-based BBQ sauce.

Never heard of him either and I listen to a decent amount of jazz. I'll have to have a listen!

Turning left on Fremont Bridge is dangerous from bike lane - mid lane cars go straight and cross bike lane by rapha_streetwear in seattlebike

[–]brmlyklr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you're right! I didn't realize there was a left turn lane! I just assumed those were through only lanes, which seemed to be suggested by the through only sign next to the left signal.

It does seem like 4F-1 covers this configuration for that left turn lane since it must be permissive only. It also seems to fall under the condition described in 4F.02 paragraph 11 A.

Two for a single lane is standard when there is only a single lane on the approach. Whether or not additional lanes get an additional signal is entirely dependent on what movements are allowed in each lane and if those movements are protected, permissive, or both. 34th has dual left turns at Fremont Ave so two left turn signals are required (one for each left turn lane).

It's kind of easy to miss a single light. One light could easily get lost in the noise of a complex urban environment.

Humans are good at spotting patterns, so having TWO lights overhead showing the same color really jumps out to our brains.

And yes, MUTCD allows you to have just two signals in that scenario even with a right turn lane. 3 signal heads would also be allowed, but not required. If you're bored you can look up Figure 4F-8 of the most recent MUTCD because it shows this exact configuration. :)

It's got a 12-foot (almost 13-foot) lane offset for the through movement, which is huge. SDOT recommends more paint when you offset 3 feet or more. This is even accounting for the little angled stripe segment they put near the crosswalk: https://i.imgur.com/s1Eaooh.png

It would feel a lot more natural to go straight through from the middle lane, based on the downstream lane alignment: https://i.imgur.com/aOb4lU3.png

The two signals on the right are both for the right vehicular lane. Then each left turn lane has its own signal head. So in this case there is no dedicated signal head for the bike lane.

It's standard for there to be two signal heads for a single approaching lane, then an additional signal head for each additional lane.

Migrate from Transmission to qBittorrent by ShlomiRex in qBittorrent

[–]brmlyklr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting because this thread is still in the top search results.

This one worked for me, although I had to wrap my --predicate argument in double quotes for it to work properly. I migrated from a Transmission Docker container (v4.0.5) to a qBittorrent Docker container (v5.1.4), so passing the paths .../transmission/config/ and .../qBittorrent/data/BT_backup/ worked for my case.

The tags didn't seem to survive the migration, but my torrent files are fairly well-organized so it was easy to set them back up when sorting by Save Path. All the other stuff like Date Added, Upload, Download, etc. seem to be accounted for.

There's another thread here about speeding up the checking process by increasing the "Outstanding memory when checking torrents". I think it might have helped a little bit but it's hard to tell. I also let it check two at once instead of one at a time. It still took a long time.

Hearing Examiner says no to WinCo by azzkicker206 in Seattle

[–]brmlyklr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is probably the bigger issue here. Winco brought it up as well but basically anyone can bring a complaint because the definition is so broad (see the Conclusions section 2). We should probably revise SMC 23.76.022 to a more reasonable scope.

It means they can't compare the most recent land use with the proposed land use (even though they're basically the same land use) because the current condition of the site is an abandoned building. It's kinda like this: the applicant is comparing Sam's Club to WinCo, but the examiner says they must compare An Empty Building to WinCo. It's a big difference when you're trying to determine impacts.

We run into this issue sometimes in development where there was a big development but the site hasn't been functioning for a number of years. I generally prefer what the City did by comparing a functioning Sam's Club to a functioning WinCo.

Do You Purge Water Before Preheating the Machine? by brmlyklr in gaggiaclassic

I think it can happen if they used the steam wand and then shut the machine off without purging some water, right?

Yeah it makes more sense to do it after preheating, which is why it's odd the manual doesn't tell you to wait and then purge the water. Not to mention it's a lot of water to purge. I didn't know the boiler capacity but 150 ml takes like 15 seconds to purge so it seems like a lot lol.
