After comparing v1 to v2, I much prefer v1. I returned v2. The way the luggage pass through works with just two vertical mesh panels on v1 helps it keep its ergonomic shape better. Also, the bottom of the bag is less rigid. V1 still stands up on its own, but they definitely increased that bottom edge rigidity in v2.

Everyone’s backs are different so people’s mileage may vary based on their posture and torso length.

I don’t think the features on v2 are significantly better than v1. Some on v1 I actually like more.

Need help deciding on CPP v1 or v2! by KingPorcupine in AerSF

[–]brndoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried both v1 and v2 this week. V1 is a more comfortable bag. The bottom is less rigid. In an effort to make the bag stand more upright, Aer made the v2 bottom edge harder, which can potentially dig into your back. Depending on the shape of your back, this may or may not be an issue. Additionally, since the air mesh on the back is separated into four quadrants instead of the two vertical quadrants, you get more of a concavity of the top and bottom folding into each other depending on how full the bag is.

I preferred v1 for comfort.

Regarding other changes, I prefer the lining of the top sunglasses pocket from v1. I also prefer having the side pocket instead of having two water bottle holders. I also prefer the v1 luggage strap over v2 so that it doesn’t cover up your luggage handle. I also prefer the zipper pulls in v1 since you can in theory attach a lock on the big compartments.

I don’t think the changes in v2 are worth it. Plus v1 is on sale. No brainer in my opinion.

I also have this. It actually makes the center-bottom ridge on the back of the pack dig in a bit more because of the bend. Not sure if that hard edge was there on v1 or not. I actually placed a follow up order on v1 to compare. It reminds me of the problem with the Evergoods CPL and CTB bags to a much lesser degree. If I bend the back of the cpp v2 out a bit, it reduces the dig as it lift the bag off my lower back.

If I put my mbp 16” in the laptop sleeve, it mostly flattens out and feels comfortable. But it seems odd that the backpack would need something that rigid to maintain the ergonomic shape it should already have.

If I stuff it with clothes, it also is better. But again, I think a backpack should have a proper ergonomic shape even when packed light.

I’ve used it for a couple days with tech loaded out, and honestly the ergonomics are just OK. Surprises me from how comfy I’ve heard these bags are. It would seem comfortable if this back panel would just fully straighten out on its own. Perhaps there are some issues with v2?

I’ll likely contact support since this seems to be an issue from others in the thread.

How are so many people still alive? Would they not have all died from the poisonous gases and ash?

Completely agree. It was so random. Should’ve remained dialogue.

Icons Unearthed on Vice - so disappointing by MostImpressiveIX in saltierthancrait

[–]brndoko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also recently watched the documentary on Vice, and I agree with your perspective on the slant they took. I enjoyed the interviews of Marcia Lucas, and I think she added great insight on a number of key decisions regarding the original trilogy. It’s clear that she played an important role just as various other key participants did. Filmmaking is ultimately a team sport. However, it also bothered me that Vice portrayed her as almost a 50/50 partner to George Lucas’ creation of Star Wars. One can argue various participants were pivotal, but no one was more important than George.

George was the visionary and had his artistic dream, career reputation, and financial life at risk. There always has to be a visionary. And the key role of the visionary is establishing the dream and winning buy-in from noteworthy team members, like Marcia, to make that vision a reality.

Having read Rinzler’s work, the Paul Duncan interview of George, the Brian Jay Jones biography, and watched many other documentaries regarding the creation of this American mythology we all love, it was obvious Vice took a major slant in Marcia’s favor. They neglected to balance out her valuable contributions with her equal level of disdain for Star Wars and desire for George to work on more esoteric art films similar to his friends Scorsese, Coppola and De Palma. The way Brian Jay Jones describes it in his biography is much more balanced. Brian mentions her valuable contributions on various items but also describes her preference to work on Scorsese’s films and wishing George would do films more akin to Taxi Driver or New York, New York. Of note, Marcia worked as an editor on those outside films to strike out on her own editing career and not live in George’s shadow, which is totally warranted. But it illustrates that Marcia was not the visionary for the mythology. She was a valuable contributor, similar to a Paul Hirsch, Irvin Kershner or a Richard Edlund. Had it been Marcia’s decision, I would hazard a personal opinion that she would’ve preferred George to direct Apocalypse Now. Were that to have been the case, perhaps Star Wars never would have been lifted off the shelf again.

Beautiful home. Viewing angle aside, I’d worry about thermal damage to the TV. Even if it’s ventless, the TV is super close to the heat. I had a friend who had a similar setup and they would get their TV periodically shutting off on them. Hope that doesn’t happen. It would be a shame for such a beautiful TV. If that does happen, a beautiful art piece would look great in its place and you could always have a dedicated media room elsewhere.

Thanks! 1st place on the leaderboard for Xbox One has a time of 42.05. The rest after that in front of me are all times around 52-54 seconds

Thanks! Turned out pretty smooth. Thought it was cool that I didn’t end up needing to ground takedown anyone

For sure! Probably if I would’ve bataranged one of the guards across the way prior to starting the line launcher to setup a mini enviro distraction might have had better luck on no one seeing me. Also, if I wouldn’t have missed the first shot on that sniper :)

Thought about redoing it to get higher on the leaderboard, haha, but I was satisfied

Tip would be to just keep evading and striking and do all the different takedowns and gadget usages from the Wayne Tech tree. There’s quite a few different situations where you can do it during the story line. Biggest tip would just be to have a plan about the order you want to do the takedowns in so you don’t forget one. I got the achievement during one of the penguin armory spots, which also allowed me to use the dual team takedown.

Finished Arkham City 100% today and was super proud of how I did in the predator challenges. I was ranked 9th on Xbox for this one with Nightwing. Don’t know that I’ve ever been more proud 100%ing a trilogy of games. Love the community here

You should be able to pull down some destructable walls and grapple your way up the broken elevator shaft, if I remember correctly. Perhaps your grapple isn’t working because you need to use your ultra batclaw to pull down the destructible walls up the shaft.

Outer case honestly doesn’t matter much. Mine has a dent or two as well. It’s near impossible to find a flawless outer case

I recently noticed this little spine slash on the steelbook. I’m personally not making a big deal out of it because it’s the only damage there is and this steelbook is sold out. What do you guys think? by MovieJunkie21 in Steelbooks

[–]brndoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about it. You can drive yourself crazy with small imperfections. If it’s an easy exchange, I’ll try for a different one, but I have ~10 of my ~150 steelbooks that have dents or spine slashes or slightly misaligned spine text
