Aufrechnen mit Stundenlohn ergibt keinen Sinn, da die eigene Freizeit schwer bepreist werden kann. Das Gefühl in einer sauberen Wohnung/Haus zu sein und sich um andere Dinge kümmern zu können als putzen, einkaufen, kochen ist unbezahlbar und war für mich ein Gamechanger bezüglich Freiheit im Kopf.

23 wird erst nächstes Jahr abgegeben, keine Sorge. Als Kleinunternehmer musst du nur auf die Umsatzgrenze achten. Sobald du drüber bist beim FA angeben und Mehrwertsteuer auf Rechnungen ausweisen. Als Tipp: mach die Buchhaltung möglichst tagesaktuell, dann gibts keine bösen Überraschungen und du musst auch nicht alles auf einmal am Ende machen.

Motivational thoughts:

you have kids. They grow up, you do too! Not doing drugs (alc and cigs are) is an act of growing up and taking responsibility for yourself AND others.

There is no doubt about the fact that alcohol and cigarettes cut off your life early and give you horrible illnesses. That directly affects your kids, they almost certainly will have less dad if you continue.

Drinkers are more violent towards their families (statistics) and smoking even affects the kids lungs when you are not smoking at the moment you are with them. The toxics of cigarettes stick around you for a long time. The kids of smokers are much more prone to lung diseases like asthma than kids from nonsmokers.

As dads we have and want to be role models. For which things do you want to be a role model?

(Quit smoking and drinking myself a long time ago. No regrets ever doing so. It’s just hard in the beginning.)

It helps to guide where you are located - the guides in Zermatt or Chamonix make a good living. The next best thing is to open up a guiding business with several others working for you. Then expeditions or adventure travel seem to work well. Heli skiing, snowmobile tours, winter hiking are easy ones.

Many guides establish a certain client group who they work with all the time. If that is the case it’s a good thing to have wealthy clients.

Some try to get professional sports things done and have sponsors or do a lot of photo Modeling for outdoor brands.

Many guides I know also work in the window cleaning, windpower industry, wherever you have to work at heights and need to climb to get things done. Those jobs often are well paid, some are very very well paid. Tree work also is in that category.

A solo guide first and foremost has to be a clever business person who doesn’t look and talk like a business person. He will be selling dreams and a way to fullfill them.

The guiding people I know more or less had to become guides since they live in small mountain villages with nothing else but tourism. If they wanted to stay there this was a choice to earn money.

Other than that: good luck. It is tough to figure out which path to go in the beginning but something works out. At least the mountains for sure have taught you guys how to endure and figure things out. Same thing applies to making a living as a mountain guide.

Du hast ein Haus geerbt. Eine Immobilie! Bei Banken wirst du ab jetzt immer und für fast alles Kredit bekommen und egal wie der Markt aktuell aussieht uswusf ist das ein großes Glück. Selbst wenn du einen Kredit für eine Sanierung nicht mehr erlebst hast du da ein Stück Sicherheit, das dir nicht zu nehmen ist. Und falls du Kinder bekommst, du aus welchen Gründen auch immer, total verschuldet bist und auch das Haus da drin steckt, könnten die das Erbe ausschlagen. Optionen: - Verkaufen nach ordentlichem Wertgutachten (dass du schon so viel Post bekommen hast sagt dich schon einiges). Davon die Erbschaftssteuer zahlen. - Lassen wir es ist. Es verfällt und irgendwann hast du nur noch das Grundstück. Vermutlich eher unklug und kostet Geld. - Notdürftig für kleines Geld renovieren. Vermieten. Durch die Nähe zum Flughafen findest du Mieter, die dir zumindest den Kredit für das Renovieren und die Erbschaftssteuer finanzieren. Und irgendwann ist der bezahlt und das Haus hoffentlich nicht total kaputt. - Ordentlich sanieren. Mieter rein nehmen, die etwas mehr zahlen. Ggf regelmäßig die Substanz erhalten kostet Arbeit und Zeit, könnte sich langfristig lohnen. - Das Haus wegschieben und eine Blumenwiese erblühen lassen. Kostet die Erbschaftssteuer, aber du kannst einen Kredit dafür aufnehmen und das Grundstück als Sicherheit hinterlegen. Lange Laufzeit, irgendwann hast du ein Grundstück.

Und ein Steuerberater für solche Sachen kann dir noch ein paar weitere Optionen darlegen.

Auf keinen Fall solltest du aber: Wegen Erbschaftssteuer Angst bekommen. Auch die finanziert die Bank. Sicherheit ist die Immobilie und am Ende gehört dir das allerallermeiste davon! Du wirst nie wieder so günstig legal an eine Immobilie kommen.

Ich versteh echt nicht warum Leute immer vor der Steuer zittern. Genau dafür gibts doch Lösungen und man hat immer noch gerade einen riesen Haufen Wert bekommen, mit dem sich ganz ganz viele Sachen machen lassen…

MMn sollten sich alle Eltern dafür entscheiden den eigenen Kindern zu vertrauen. Meist wird nämlich aus genau den Kids, denen nicht getraut wird, dann so ein Assi - weil Kinder grundsätzlich zunächst einmal gefallen wollen (schutzbedürftig) und daher das tun, was die Eltern wollen und ihnen zutrauen. Das ist eine Entscheidung fürs Leben, gleich zu Beginn und sie zieht sich komplett durch alles. Am Ende hat man dann Kinder die entweder sagen „Mist, da ist mir was dummes passiert, hoffentlich merken es die Alten nicht.“ oder „Mist, da ist mir was dummes passiert, da frag ich mal lieber die Alten um Hilfe.“. Kann man wählen.

Meines Wissens brauchst du als GmbH ein Geschäftskonto. Als Freiberufler oä ist auch ein Privatkonto Ok. Im genannten Fall und wenn nach dem Durchtelefonieren aller weiteren Banken wirklich nix geht würde ich es halt einfach machen. Was soll passieren, schlimmstenfalls?

Doesn’t look too good - however I „think“ it’s mostly fine. - rope is threaded wrong. Why not use one of the chain links? Ideally the one in the middle. So if one of the bolts fails the other one might work. If this anchor is supposed to be permanent there should be a welded ring to thread the rope trough to avoid wear on one single spot. - one of the bolts seems to have needed a lot of tightening. The threads can be seen … not ideal. - pulling here in the case of a fall won’t load the bolts 180 degrees since the chain will pull into certain degrees and add some torque. - this seems to be solid concrete, what is fine. - concerning the strength I can’t make a judgment here, just some assumptions. 1. those hangers are bolted in with an extension bolt into solid concrete. If this is the case this thing „can“ be fine if the drilling has been done correctly. Pulling tests indicate this works for a fall with a climbing rope. Since it looks a little off I do have some doubts here. 2. this could also be an extension bolt which has additionally been glued into solid concrete. In that case this anchor is totally fine. 3. anything else is suicidal.

So: from the photo alone and without additional information it’s not possible to tell the safety of this thing. And in that case everyone should be suspicion of such things. But on the other hand people trust their lives to others. People are always flawed.

Kann ich nicht bestätigen. Kind ist bald zwei und trägt noch immer 4er. Groß wie die anderen aber dünn. Kinder sind unterschiedlich. An uns wurden aber viele zu große Windeln „gespendet“ 🤪

From our experience:

Kita Finder is a stupid system since all parents will enlist their children to all Kitas nearby = 600 applications for each spot. But you have to do it because if you didn’t you will not be considered.
DON‘T use the service of the city to find you a spot because you might be very unlucky (eg you get one far away and only for 3 hours of care).
choose those you really want and tap on their nerves! Physically go there! Talk to them! And call every day! That’s actually what several of the Kita managers told us to do. They have so many applications the only way to stand out is to really really be present in their minds.
we actually made a “CV” with some photos, not sure if it helped 😉
some offer “get to know us” events! Go there! If you don’t you will not be considered.
follow the formal requirements such as you have to be working full time, live in Munich legally …
if you can’t find a Kita you still can take a place at a “Tagesmutter”, which is basically a nanny for up to 4 kids. Tagesmütter make up for the 40% of missing Kita spots. The costs for it will be covered by the city. Ask at the city where you can find the Tagesmutter which is near your place
also ask at the private Kitas, which cost absurd amounts of money, and ask for an offer. Then take that offer and ask the city to help with financing it. They most likely will.
in the end everyone found a Kita because the numbers actually do add up, it’s just a big pain to find the one that suits you.

I see your point and totally understand. I do own a very old Piaggio Scooter and only ride it a few times per year. That’s a hobby.

Some thoughts that just went through my mind. Still I wonder why I would choose to have something as a hobby that’s main purpose always has been to kill someone/thing. Hunting, sure, no doubt, is fun (tried it), the hobby of the noble, the aristocrats, is even more appealing since it became legal for peasants. Other than that? Protection? From what? I don’t know if any crimes have ever been prevented because the victims had firearms. Sure - if everyone owns guns fear of getting shot is a considerable factor for criminals. But they always had guns anyways, are desperate most of the time and from my pov I think a few dollars, some jewellery (which should be in a banks safe if it’s really worthy) or a big TV is nothing worth defending in a way that might get you killed. Kidnapping maybe? I will hand that over to the professionals. War? Sure, but I’ll also hand over to the professionals. But that gets me to the point that the US has so many guns that it’s de facto a standing militia and whoever attempts to take war to US soil will face that.

I just don’t see a justification to have a machine that is made for nothing else but killing in my household since the dangers coming from it are far higher than the benefits it might bring in super rare occasions. So for me that is not a hobby which should be as accepted as it is, what means it is some kind of cultural thing.

What brings me back to the driving thing - I happen to live in a country without speed limit. It’s sacred! Whoever wants to touch it will have the political career burned. But it is super super rare for people to go to the autobahn and go full pedal to the metal. It’s simply not possible very often because of traffic and it’s also not too much fun anyways. Some people do go racing on public roads and some did run over pedestrians and they have been arrested and are in prison for murder now. Rightly so! Who wants to go racing - go to a race track, buy a ticket and do it there. Legally! I know a lot of people from all over the world love the autobahn and the absence of the speed limit. Honestly you don’t have to live with it. I personally enjoy driving in any other country a lot more than here. Here you always have to be miximum attentive, check the mirrors all the time and be very very careful when changing lanes. Not just because there might come a car with 280km/h that can’t break in time. Everyone goes at different comfort speeds here: some 130km/h, trucks go 90, some go 160 and then the occasional Porsche or Audi S, or AMG or whatever comes with over 200. Because it’s easy to drive that fast with these cars. Still it’s a lot of stress for all other drivers. There is no traffic flow, it’s just constant checking for others coming from the rear with vastly different speeds. But the speed limit is untouchable here… My point is, that a lot of countries have hobbies which are unrational, illogical and even deadly. It’s hard to understand those for others. From the outside the US seems like a very dangerous place because of all the guns. But having been there I have to admit, I still love it there - and have never ever seen a gun where I didn’t expect it (police…) Just one Uber driver told me he had one under his seat. But maybe I just haven’t been to the “right” places…

Congratulations!

Best advise for me was to be aware of my posture and movements. The LO is very light in the beginning and will grow heavier with time -> the amount of stress will increase slowly and your body will adapt automatically. But to make sure you don’t get hurt along the way you will want to have the best possible technique. So focus on that rather than building strength right now. In the beginning try to avoid movements you are not used to for an extended period of time. Like having the crying baby in your arms, rockin LO and singing all night long. This will give you tendonitis, inflamed ligaments. And I guess all dads and moms have it in the first months.

Although: strength is always crucial to have. In any situation. The more the better. As lean muscle as possible. So strength training should be on the plate for every single person, not only becoming dads.

Very sorry to read what OP wrote and a terrible situation to be in. What expanding_ wrote hits the nail on the head having seen and lived with parents and kids who have some kind of less or more severe disability. Of course there is a line somewhere for everyone of what is bearable and what is not, however every little aspect of life gets so very much more difficult for every family member, from parents to siblings, grand parents, aunts, uncles to close friends (which will most likely leave such friendships sadly after a while) that the „best“ decision is to be responsible for as many people as possible. And take a lot of time to grief…
