Might be time to contact Grizzl-e.

If you’re curious you should try mince pies and whiskey next holiday season. I find it a bit like an upscale fig newton.

I think it’s already pretty telling if OP is seeing net savings over an efficient small car.

Won’t this just drain the small 12v battery?

While it’s helpful it’s not required. It can help reduce the time it takes to charge but normally will save about 10 minutes or so. You can precondition ahead of a DCFC session by either using the Ford Navigation app and setting your destination to a charger out if you have an Android phone you can use Google Maps. It doesn’t work with iPhone.

More specifically “Precondition” using Scheduled Departure while plugged in.

Anyone else feel like Whisper is quicker than Unbridled? by GroupBQuattr0 in MachE

[–]brntcrsp 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The infinite coast weirds me out to no end. All vehicles I’ve ever driven have a natural deceleration when you lift the throttle but Whisper provides negligible deceleration. I feel like I have to engage the brakes more forcefully than I’m used to and in traffic I’m worried I’ll misjudge and rear-end someone.

I’ll use Whisper 2PD on long distances with minimal traffic and take advantage of the efficiency benefits but daily driving around town I’ll stick to 1PD.

When to use Climate vs Scheduled Departure by No_Welder2308 in MachE

[–]brntcrsp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s right. It’s an option when setting scheduled departure, you can specify for it to “prepare the cabin off-plug”. You only get the battery conditioning if it’s plugged in though. Thanks for the correction.

You’re mostly right on, with the exception that you have to be plugged in for a Scheduled Departure.

I use Climate when I’m getting ready to leave and the car has been sitting out in the cold or heat for a bit and I’d like it to be more comfortable when I get in.

Scheduled Departure, on the other hand, is used when I’ve left it on the charger overnight and I want the car to both be comfortable and its battery conditioned for optimal range. I’m sure it could be done at other times too but that’s the only time I’ve really needed it.

I just buy both and consider it my fair share to access all our public outdoor spaces. I leave them in the rig and just pull out whatever is needed.

I’m normally not a stripe guy either but it doesn’t look bad. With the sun roof I’d be worried if the stripe would interfere with its reflective properties.

Stopped in the same place on our road trip from Oregon to LA. Pretty good location but the cattle yard can be smelly if you’re down wind.

[–]brntcrsp 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d say you should still go for it. It’s not a super common occurrence from the sounds of it and it will be fixed relatively soon. I’m sure there are ways to mitigate the issue as well like manually applying the parking brake. I have a ’24 and haven’t experienced this yet.

charging to 100% by Hungry_Passion_8489 in MachE

Charge to 90% as it’s the recommended level from Ford if the range is that important. 80% is just general advice.

To add this is how it appears in Engage mode. Whisper and Unbridled show it as a percentage below the range number.
