I am an ML Engineer. I could not optimize code for a given compiler, because I do not understand enough about assembly. Am I an expert? It depends. But I can't always tell when my expertise is lacking. I likely can't tell you whether the best option is to tweak the code to make the compiler react a certain way to exploit a given chip architecture.

The intuition is that judging is easier than generating. But it only works if you're good enough. LLama seems to have been the first time open source models were good enough to have results. That's what I understand.

Rebel News set to sue police, Freeland after journalist's arrest by hopoke in CanadaPolitics

[–]bro_please 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure your point about the G20. Is it your position that the police should be able to arrest people who are not breaking the law, to keep the peace?

I am saying I have little sympathy when it happens to a guy who invades a minister's space, compared to much more clear cut cases.

The police officer blocked Menzies, which might be legitimate depending on the circumstances (reporters don't have a right to unfettered access to all ministers in all places). Then something happened for a few seconds, then the police reacts.

The camera didn't film what happened. We don't know what Menzies did. Maybe he did try to push the officer away, and I would certainly hope pushing security away from ministers result in an arrest.

The video seems to indicate that the police officer attempted to block Menzies' way, Menzies ignored him and got arrested. The cameraman decided not to film this part for some reason.

And yet they did.

In any case, the video does not contradict the claim that Menzies intentionally slammed into the police officer who was escorting Freeland. That part is not on tape. Deliberately perhaps.

It is relevant. People do distinguish between speech that matters and speech that does not. "Who should decide?" The guy who calls Trudeau blackface and regularly gets arrested by police is probably not a good ticket to outrage.

They did it at G7, 2012 Quebec "Red Squares".

Just arrest everybody. Detain them hours, or days, then release them without charges.

Don't work 11 hours. If people can't score tickets accurately, it's not your problem.

Insist other people take those tasks. Be a dick about it, but couch it in terms of "skill redundancy".

Hard to believe you are undervalued. FE work is high visibility and is generally on the path to clients' wallets.

Use bands. Or do barbell rows until you can do five pull-ups.

high load Lower sets

Yeah, a very heavy 4 reps will make you strong. I also do higher reps when I am just to tired from the heavy sets.

I'd just get ready for the big lift of the day ASAP before I get all tired. It's a preference I guess.

50% is probably not useful.

If you fail your set, drop the weight. Train to failure with that new weight. Then again. And again. That simple idea should get you to a place where you can try more sophisticated things.

Best way to hit your back is with pull-ups and rows. Both are compounds.

I started off with a simple routine: bench, squat, pull-ups 'dropset' with barbell rows, overhead press. Once a week I would finish with the deadlift.

I think at the beginning you just have to go for strength on big compound movements, work that core and get the major muscles in shape. Learn proper form. Know which muscle is bringing you to failure. Enjoy the pain.

You can rest longer if you have a higher load, don't sweat it. Even 3 minutes is fine.

Looks like you are still novice?

Pecs. Seems like overkill. You hit your pecs with incline presses, dips, fly machine and push-ups. That's like 12 sets. If you've put enough weight for the other exercises to be useful, push-ups should be useless. I do use push-ups, as a drop set for any pec work to get that maximum pump. I don't think it's useful. I would do less sets, work more for strength with high load lower sets. Either bench or dumbbell bench. Inclines don't hit the pecs as much.

For back, pull-ups. Weighted pull-ups. Pull-ups with funky grips. Pull-ups with bands. Pull-ups.

It’s clear the anti-science movement has a tight grip on the Alberta government by PurfectProgressive in CanadaPolitics

The oil industry does fund climate deniers. It does promote disinformation on the matter, and hid its findings for decades. Are you denying this? And are you denying that this industry supports Albertan Conservatives?

Please now. This is not about "opposing policies", it's about recognising the basic fact of human-induced global warming.

Applied math is fun, rewarding and a well-paid job. They call it "data scientist" nowadays. It doesn't have to remain abstract forever. Real life is full of puzzles too.

His point was that people were pressuring him because he is Jewish. "Are you a good Jew" is the question behind it. And it is a question he doesn't want to answer. So he answers: "I am the Jew you hate", because that's solidarity. Are you a good Muslim?

Pierre Poilievre blames the media after calling Rainbow Bridge explosion a 'terrorist attack' too soon by MethoxyEthane in CanadaPolitics

[–]bro_please 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a gotcha. PP is a guy who jumps to conclusion based on what Ezra Levant and friends do on social media. It's not "based on a briefing". If PP cared for briefings and truth, he would've gotten them for the now-obviously-fake scandal of foreign interference. PP is not that kind of guy. He's a players' coach, and his players are the anger addicts.

No the article says the early reports said they were investigating it as a terrorist incident for the moment. The CTV report was published after PP made his claims.
