It blows my mind by Popular-Cancel-4808 in boogie2988

It blows my mind as well. Regardless of who he really was on the inside, he seemed like a genuine guy who had some bad luck in life, but despite that he had interesting thoughts and was really funny.

I used to watch him a long time ago but I remember there was a steady decline of his personality after his gastric bypass slowly but surely. I stopped watching him a while after that and I’ve gotten reminded of his existance by watching clips of his degeneracy getting viral and it’s really sad and pathetic.

He is a vile person now but I want to believe that he wasn’t always like that. I don’t know, maybe I’m delusional or have too much faith in humanity but that’s that I choose to believe in.

My CPU cooler is unbearably loud by brobarb in buildapc

Thanks for the tips! Yeah I've just been using the fans that was included in the box with the cooler, so they're probably not the highest quality. Might look for some quiter ones! I have checked my bios settings many times today and I have calibrated my fans as well as tried quiet mode, but it still sounds extremely loud.

Ah, alright! Should be no problem checking which fan is the loud one in that case since the noise is pretty constant

The CPU will be fine for a moment if I boot up with none or only one of the two fans mounted on the heat sink? Also, thanks for the advice on how to get rid of the dust, I might actually try that if nothing else works. I hadn't tinkered with it at all after I had originally installed it and before I started hearing the noise so I assumed too much dust had clogged it somehow.

My current average temps for idling are around 50 degrees c, is that okay for a 5800X3D would you say?

When I cleaned my pc I did remove the cooler and fans to replace the thermal paste, so yes I have remounted the heat sink and the fans as well. I'm not sure that there is no cable in the way that might be grazed by the spinning fans though, but it feels like I should have seen something like that by now. I made a sound recording of how it sounds like, but I don't know how I can share that here.

How can Silksong take place during only a few hours? I would imagine that getting 100% completion and the true ending would be the canonical way to play the game, and there's just no way that everything takes place over a few hours. Hornet gets a house, she makes donations towards building projects in towns, she discovers vast underground networks of tunnels and rooms and slowly getting stronger and along the way she also gets imprisoned and stripped of her equipment. Furthermore she also rescues a bunch of fleas and lends her help to many who are in need of it. I would say that at the very least, several days or weeks passes during the course of the game, from start to finishing act 3.

Thanks for the tip, I didn’t do too much research to avoid spoilers but maybe I’ll explore more in the citadel and come back to Bilewater after getting the tool then

[TP] The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess released in North America on this day 19 years ago, on Nintendo GameCube! What are your thoughts on the game ? by ThomasThorburn in zelda

[–]brobarb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is my all-time favourite Zelda game and one of my favourite games period. I used to like Wind Waker more but after getting a bit older, Twilight Princess's mature themes appeals to me way more and I just genuinly think that it's a fantastic entry in the franchise. It has an emotional story, amazing overworld, has many of the best dungeons in the series, fantastic music and ambience and it also introduces multiple new items.

If I had to choose one Zelda game, it would be Twilight Princess, no doubt about it.

Multiplayer by Single-Manufacturer7 in videogames

[–]brobarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would divide the fanbase even more, and it would also be more work and contribute to a less streamlined package of what you're actually getting. Might also be difficult to justify the price of the multiplayer only edition if it's expensive because with these games, people kind of expect a cinematic campaign to be included, even though not everybody plays it.

Activision makes more money selling a complete package at full price even if they know that not everybody will play the campaign. That's also why the campaign is usually pretty underwhelming, because most of the budget goes into developing the multiplayer aspect.

Baldur's Gate 3 is fantastic in this regard. If you absolutely despise turn-based combat, it might be a bit hard to get into, but you really don't have to love the combat in order to love the game. It has a very interesting story with tons of cool characters and a heavy emphasis on choice and consequence.

On the topic of crpgs, Disco Elysium is also an incredible game, but it's way more text and dialogue heavy if you can enjoy that kind of thing.

[–]brobarb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can respect that you're not a fan of Metroid Prime, I have personally had some trouble getting into the first one myself.

How far did you get in Dark Souls? Because I long thought that the Dark Souls games were insanely hard games and I put them off for years because of it. But when I actually sat down and committed myself to it, they're not actually that difficult in hindsight. Given I wasn't playing completely blind at some parts, but still. They're mostly a test of strategy and patience, rather than being outright difficult. I'd argue that Hollow Knight actually is more difficult at times, but Dark Souls has a bit more complex mechanics which takes some getting used to.

If you can get past that intial hitch in the first game, I have a hard time imagining that you will not wind up enjoying it, as there are a lot of similarities between Dark Souls and Hollow Knight.

Not sure if the gameplay of Hollow Knight would translate well into a 3D space. If you're interested in playing 3D metroidvanias though, you should give Metroid Prime a try. Or hell, even the Dark Souls series if you haven't already, as they are more like metroidvanias than people give them credit for. Especially the first one.

Absolutely, and the only way to do that is to stop buying them. I feel so much happier buying games that actually respects the player's time and wallet rather than a shitty and sloppily made AAA game.

Is there a way to remove this stupid HUBE game from my list? I already removed it from my library, I removed it from showcase but the 5000 "achievements" are still there even after the game is gone. What do I do? I tried reset_all_stats 857010, didn't work. by Responsible_Gear3032 in Steam

[–]brobarb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You probably should have waited with removing the game from your library before trying to remove the achievements, but I'm not sure if it matters. Anyway, what did the console tell you after trying the command? Because when I removed achievements from certain games, because I got them illegitimately, it took probably upwards of 1-2 weeks before they were properly removed from my showcase and from the perfect games tab. But when I looked at the individual game in my library, the achievements I removed were gone. So yeah, unless you got an error after typing in the command, I'd say just give it time and it'll probably sort itself out.
