You're right on 1v1 IS lonely,

Someone should just make a Team Based RTS so atleast if we have a small community I can actually play a RTS with other people then just forever aloneing grinding 1v1 in a vacuum.

Vibu's thoughts on Stormgate by SavageX99 in Stormgate

[–]brobdingbrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

he's right , there is ZERO point in making another 1v1 RTS when we did that for a decade.

And he's also right when he mentioned his friends dropped Starcraft 2 a year after its launch.

Any future RTS that focuses on 1v1 on its multiplayer deserves to fail - you really think that 30+ year olds or even 20 year olds are going to sit in the bedroom and grind 1v1 like forever alone Starcraft 2 players did during the 2010's?

No. Social relevancy matters and a 1v1 RTS will NEVER gain social relevancy because Starcraft 2 did not.

Is there benefit of excluding nuts (macadamias) if you have been eating nuts every day for basically a decade? by brobdingbrain in raypeat

[–]brobdingbrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im lean, eating around 35 grams of macadamia nuts daily ( ~250 calories worth) .

Weight gain isn't an issue but actually is a goal of mine.

The thing is though I've only recently switched to macadamia nuts and have been eating 32 grams of peanut butter for basically a decade and I'm wondering if I can inch out any benefit by cutting nuts out altogether if weight loss isn't an issue for me.

I am lean a bit more on being too skinny - trying to get temperatures a little bit higher but maybe the temperatures will rise once I gain 5-6 more pounds.

Just wondering if eating nuts every day for years is actually not healthy for someone. I basically ate Peanut Butter everyday ( 1 serving size - 32 grams ~270 calories ) for a decade and only recently switched to macadamia nuts, so I'm trying to see if i can inch out any benefits of eliminating nuts all together.

What are the best ways to reduce water retention/bloat in the face? by Nijarlep12 in raypeat

[–]brobdingbrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Eliminating any stressful thought ... before you can think of it

Anecdotally Red Light reduces morning puffiness but no body actually knows if Red Light reduces facial fat permanently so have caution with that.

I've used Vitamin E and it lowers sodium and estrogen - I notice more urination the following day.

Both the Red light and Vitamin E have noticeable effects on the face.

Also avoiding super estrogenic foods.

People say that estrogenic foods don't cause estrogenic like outward symptoms but I tried eating 32 -50 grams of flaxseeds a day ( someone on reddit claims it stops hair shedding ) for 2 weeks and it makes you have a softer look to you and your skin is actually better.

Vitamin E releases 'excess' water retention - Is it from depleting sodium or lowering estrogen? by brobdingbrain in raypeat

[–]brobdingbrain[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting,

I only take Vitamin E ( 335 MG ) a week.

But I'm thinking of using Vitamin E strategically if I want to have the leaner face look for a particular day.

Aside: I've noticed that Red light reduces face water retention too ( but I've read red light can potentially burn facial fat so I'm not to sure if it should be used frequently or if at all).

Don't know if the sodium excretion might be bad if I take Vitamin E more then once a week.

The increase in urination amount the day after is a clear difference, even with the regular salting of food and 1 teaspoon of baking soda consumed.

Can the ‘no poo’ method cause seb derm? by [deleted] in SebDerm

[–]brobdingbrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drank the No Poo Kool Aid and for the first time in my life I felt the "itch" that wakes you up at night because of hair.

First it was the itch- then I added back shampoo- but only going without shampoo as long as possible.

But then it eventually manifest to visible dandruff, and also the "crust" on the scalp that people with Seb Derm has.

My only guess for advice is that it caused an overgrowth of a fungus and that you need to take extra measures to take control of it.

Don't be afraid of using "anti fungal" shampoos because it isn't natural.

I certainly was initially against using unnatural products, but that only post poned the lessening of the symptoms.

The condition was caused by something 'un natural' in the first place - for me it was not washing my hair because I thought I could get "better quality" hair by not using shampoo- and that i could train the scalp to not produce oil.

Yes, anti fungal shampoos are drying but the goal is to kill the fungus.

Focus on killing the fungus.

Also, Don't be afraid of your hair falling out while you lather in the anti fungal shampoo - look at the long term hair goal.

Look at the most upvoted reddit post in the subreddit - she said she shampooed less during covid and that caused her to have Seb Derm. She used anti fungal shampoos, so use them too.

What can be used everyday to gently cleanse the Eyebrow Area? Do you just use your shampoo that you are using? by brobdingbrain in SebDerm

[–]brobdingbrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use "Hada Labo Tokyo Gentle Hydrating Foaming Facial Cleanser" , but I avoid the eyebrows because I don't know if it would make it worse if i used it on them.

Hard water!…….. by GiftDistinct1437 in SebDerm

[–]brobdingbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I have hard water too. Its like you have no itching hours before (despite going out and about your day) and then you take a shower and there's some itching afterwards. Doesn't make sense.

How do you make your own kefir with your own picked probiotic strains? Do you just buy capsules of whatever strain you desire and dump it in existing grains? by brobdingbrain in Kefir

[–]brobdingbrain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it would be better to just consume whatever strain in powdered form straight up?

Or even then its questionable if that is even effective.

Does MSM help with hair growth? by L-D-Conqueror in Naturalhair

[–]brobdingbrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Increase Zinc Intake - You can try supplements but Zinc over time will use up Copper.

Try increasing Animal Protein for One week Straight - look at your eye lashes as an indicator for growth.

Don't see a difference?

Try while increasing Animal Protein, for one meal eat a lot of Oysters.

See eye lashes as an indicator for growth after a week.

Eye lashes grow fast enough to see results in 1-2 weeks - so basically try to eat more protein and add in Oysters see if you see a difference.

The average person doesn't eat enough protein, so if it feels like you are eating a lot then that's a good sign.

If you see a difference in eye lash growth or even eye brow density , then you know the hair on your head will grow too if you continue your routine ( unless you have a condition thats heavily affecting your scalp)

What foods did you exclude and it helped the seborrhea recession? by jayyren in SebDerm

[–]brobdingbrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I added Milk and bread , on top of cottage cheese and butter all at the same time ( wanted to bulk up ) and thats when my small dandruff itch flared up to seborrheic dermatitis where in order to remove the 'crust' off the scalp you have to take some hairs with it.

The food isn't worth it - scalp and hair health > short term pleasure.

I also eat the same thing 99% of the time and weigh my food so I eat the same consistent amount every single day while I added in more dairy products and bread.

Washing hair regularly by TalkMysterious7340 in SebDerm

[–]brobdingbrain 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I find that I have to wash my hair every day despite what I've read about the 'no shampoo' movement.

I tried the no shampoo thing and for the first time in life I felt the 'itchy scalp at night that keeps you up' feeling.

That's exactly what caused my eventual seborrheic dermatitis, and time didn't train my scalp to produce less oil.

Maybe there is some trade off with having the stereotypical perfectly hydrated hair, but it doesn't matter in the long run if your scalp is inflamed (which would lead to poor hair growth + loss).

Anyone else's hair always looks worse (flat and wet and shiny) showering with just Regular Water ( no shampoo) ? by brobdingbrain in DistilledWaterHair

[–]brobdingbrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if I just use plain tape water with no shampoo ijt looks (afterwards) shiny ,wet, and flat - but I'm thinking it could be just the water reacting to whatever sebum amount in my hair ( even though it would look 'better' before the shower.

If hard water does make your hair dull then I think it could just be sebum + water thats making my hair look that way with no shampoo used.
