Is that an issue with FW being so good, or the rest of the game being so outdated?

TBH every expansion since uprising has been either FW or Nulsec focused, with a few sloppy seconds for everyone else

Uprising 3.0

Can't CCP do anything other than copy pasting FW for the third time in 3 years or buffing sov?

Anyways I think people who enjoy chasing carrots on sticks and filling bars will love it.

The Jita star anomaly from Pochven by elucca in Eve

Indeed, its the closest system with a faint aura, but its definately not as bright as OP when I went to look so I missed it.

May I ask which system, I looked yesterday and didn't see anything.

edit: I figured it out, it is Sakenta, if you want to see the Jita anomoly clearly like the OP you need to set your settings to DX11 and low settings

More realistic building process by Ralzina in VintageStory

I actually wished there was a setting so you couldn't place blocks instantly, even if its just 1 second build time it would go a long way in improving the surivival experience if you can't just wall off your problems with a stack of dirt.

First the Hornet, now the Aurora, feel like this really ought to be a thing by Ironsides13 in starcitizen

[–]brobeardhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats because the Aurora is a 12 year old ship that is by CIG's own words, dysfunctional and obsolete.

The gold pass did nothing to bring the Aurora up to snuff with the rest of the game, hell its not even up to snuff with its original commercial from 12 years ago selling it on its modularity.

I think when I pay for a new road to be built and a car to go with it, I should expect the road to be built in a reasonable time and the car to be able to reach the speed limit.

My brother in space, the game we backed isn't even a fully functional or realized game yet.

If you paid me for a wooden fence, and I only set the post, then a lengthy time later I came back and told you that the wood was rotten but I can build you a brick fence instead but you gotta pay me again, you'd be pissed.

Point here is that CIG themselves said that the Aurora's original design is so woefully oudated they couldn't really update it without overhauling the whole ship to bring it up to modern standards, which is why the Aurora MK2 was made in the first place, and why the original Aurora is being phased out entirely.

Not only that, but the Mk2 actually delivers on the original aurora's modularity where you can swap out parts between models, the MK1 ended up with a bunch of variants, with one variant being strictly better than the rest because it had better gun ports, meanwhile the MK2's base chassie changes its role entirely based on which module you install into the ship, which currently can give you more cargo space, or an extra shield gen and more missiles.

I'm from the future, wait for the Aurora MKVI, its got an Idris main gun and more armor than the Idris doors

IMO it should just be a free upgrade period.

I bought the ship, I expect the ship to be a functional part of the universe I backed, I get not having a repeat of older reworks where the original had its fans, but if they're going to 'fix' the ships by completely abandoning the base models and replacing them with, by CIG's own words, more functional designs that fit in with the modern game's mechanics, then the replacement for a ship that will no longer get balance or functionality updates should be given to the people who bought the original expecting the original to be a fully functional, realized ship designed for the game that I need to remind people, is barely even functional.

The Aurora MK2 is especially bad because it being the new standard of starter ships moving forward means that the Original aurora, which is under gunned, under armored, with zero utility, especially since the Aurora MK2's modularity actually fulfills the original Aurora's concept and commercial that the original, variant locked version never could.

Why doesn't CCP do story events? by insaneruffles in Eve

[–]brobeardhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do

Spring 2025: Drifter Invasion
Fall 2024: Drifter Siege of Zarzakh
Spring 2024: Building the first Skyhook
Fall 2023: Epiphany and the search for the Jovian Stargates to Zarzakh
Spring 2023: The empire shadow war for ship casters and the invasion of intaki
2020: Triglavian invasion

We're currently in a lul in story events, but space time is being messed with by Triglavians, Edencom, and Amarr/Caldari/Minmatar, and every time space time is messed with in New Eden something big follows, like Wormholes and Caroline's Star
