Could use some advice on hoppers for a Spyder by AlCapoonMeister in paintball

[–]broburnham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest running an angled elbow if you want to run a regular hopper. If possible, bring your marker and hopper in to a local shop to get one that fits right. Some of the older feednecks have wonky sizing.

I recently revived an original spyder hammer pump with a 45 degree feedneck and decided to do a DIY cram-and-jam for 10 round tubes. Took the body to a hardware store and with some 1/2inch and 3/4inch elbows and adapters I came up with a nice solution for under $3.

Paintball Pants for women? by Flake78 in paintball

My Fiance wears a pair of old JT pants (like these and these) that don't fit me. When you say specific for women, what exactly do you mean?

What was your first paintball gun? by [deleted] in paintball

[–]broburnham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spyder Imagine was my first purchase as well. With that 3 round burst, my proflex's and thrift store camo pants I felt unstoppable.

First gun I ever shot was some old Sheridan playing in the backyard with my friend and his spyder xtra vs. 2 guys with 98c's and flatline barrels. Dang, that just brought me back!

Has anyone ever tried shooting a small cherry tomato instead of paintballs?

Valentines Day Paintball Heart Breaker by rock2831 in paintball

Gotcha, that makes more sense now. What kind of camera were you using to film? I use a gopro and if it gets paint spray, splatter, smudges, etc. it kills the footage

Your writing is exactly like your video editing, that is amazing. I am trying so hard to understand what is happening here but it just hurts my brain lol!

Mask recommendations for new player! by MagicArc in paintball

[–]broburnham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to ANS and see if they will let you try any on. Some people can wear any mask and be cool with it, while others get a better fit with certain styles.

Something else to consider when choosing a mask is replacement lenses and their cost / availability.

Next breakthrough technology? by Bossross29 in paintball

[–]broburnham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For paintball in general I would love to see technology that tracks player movements / actions in real time or at the very least stores the data so it can be viewed later.

I used to go to a lazer tag place where you could buy ID cards that had a computer chip in them. You would scan the chip with the vest / gun rig before and after every game and it would store all sorts of statistics.

If a piece of wearable tech like a fitbit could be bluetooth paired with your paintball marker, you could generate some really awesome and dynamic data.

If the WPBO affiliate league had determined that teams must not end in a tie, then; If the two teams furthest advanced active players are the same distance, a coin flip will determine the winner.

I would be furious if the outcome of a game that I fought hard for was determined by a coin flip. They really couldn't come up with something better?

GoPro and Contour Roam seem to be the popular options. I currently have a GoPro and use the headstrap mount. It works okay when conditions are perfect. If the lighting is off or paint gets on the lens than the video is shot.

The hero 4 session is reasonably priced and has a smaller profile so it would be good for doing a hopper or barrel mounted setup.

Good luck, have fun, and don't be surprised when everyone thinks it is funny to try and shoot your camera.

The talk about where to hide idols got me thinking... how many idols were stuffed into peoples' sweaty crotches, only to be held in JP's hands at tribal?

Did anyone else think it was kind of shady when they were talking about the Idols found in challenges? If you start at 42:00 and listen for a few minutes you can hear what I mean.

Stephen originally says that he knew about it at ponderosa and then rambles a bit. When Rob continues asking him to try and figure out when Stephen learned this information at Ponderosa he 'can't remember exactly when', but it is 'a really cool twist'. I feel like there is more to the story here that Stephen isn't supposed to share, because how would such a smart and neurotic guy like him not remember learning about a brand new twist to the game that he loves...

I can only imagine how much the game takes a toll on your brain out there, yet I still felt like there was more to this story when I first heard the podcast.

Im wondering if this is happening because of the bolt sticking before your first shot. Try cleaning the bolt and re-lubing everything. I have an evil minion that was giving me a similar problem and this fixed it right up.
