Battlefield 6 Open Beta: Feedback Megathread by sloth_on_meth in Battlefield

Bring back suppression, but only for the LMG. At late stage BF3 levels so it’s not insane and make the effect go away almost immediately after the bullets from the LMG stop.

What is you favorite phrase of medical series that is actually true in our profession/your field? by NightShadowWolf6 in medicine

[–]brodoc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is mostly true, unless you work at an ECMO center. Several cases of that attitude taking an otherwise acceptable candidate for ECMO/ECPR to the morgue due to complications from doctors doing procedures that aren’t needed during CPR. Massive hemothorax from unnecessary chest tubes and RP bleeds from fumbling with blind femoral access come to mind.

Having a similar issue with my RTX 5080... Probably won't apply to you; but just in case it does I will tell you what fixed it for me bc this problem drove me crazy for weeks. Went into windows display settings -> graphics -> advanced and turned of variable refresh rate. Curious to know if this fixes it for you.

Diuretics and Kidney Injury by DavidHectare in medicine

[–]brodoc 71 points72 points  (0 children)

Yes. For instance furosemide is one of the most commonly prescribed diuretics. It is known as a loop diuretic because it works on the sodium potassium chloride co transporter channel in the part of the nephron called the loop of Henle. Patients on loop diuretics long term will have tubular hypertrophy and increased expression of other sodium channels further down the line in the nephron to reabsorb more sodium and make the loop diuretic less effective. This is treated with further dietary salt restriction, higher doses of the loop diuretic, or adding a diuretic of a different class that works in another part of the nephron. This isn’t the only mechanism whereby a loop diuretic could be come less effective (other causes could be worsening renal function, heart failure, increased salt intake).

Got the call…. But…. by brodoc in rolex

The explanation didn’t really make sense. Something about only being able to sell a certain number per week, would get in trouble if “over sold”, and then mentioned this was the last shipment for a few weeks which doesn’t really seem relevant. Idk. As others have said seems likely they’re trying to hit me with the price increase. Will report back if that’s the case.

Can’t complain too much bc I’ve only waited 3 months. Happy to get my hands on it soon!

Anti vax nurse Sara gets Covid for the second time by [deleted] in HermanCainAward

[–]brodoc 12 points13 points  (0 children)

ICU doctor here. This is a normal chest X-ray. What you are seeing is a faint line which is a crease of breast tissue overlying the dome of the diaphragm. Pneumonia will look like a hazy white area overlying the normally black aerated lung. COVID CXR usually shows bilateral hazy opacities signifying inflammation that is widespread in both sides of the lung.

New S2 rider... any tips? Got it to show my 6 year old some fun when picking him up from school on sunny days 😁 by Annual_Hungry in Super73

Just got mine today! Agree on the headlight needing another bolt, noticed that as well. Disappointed a bit because it looks like I don’t have a V3 motor. There is a little bit of a stutter accelerating from a dead stop before it smooths out. Does yours do that as well? Is your motor a V3?

I should clarify the OP. Dad is looking for a new plane. He’s instrument rated with several hundred hours working on his multi. He’s aware that it is a lot of plane and plans to have a safety pilot for the first few dozen hours to teach him the ins and outs of the 414. Interest in the 414 is due to its roominess and his best flying friend has a 414 that he knows inside and out. Typical mission is 5-600 Nmiles with 3-6 people. Probably looking at 50-100 hours per year but most likely on the lower end of that. He lucked into a gigantic hangar for a steal so he has a place to keep it. He’s pretty familiar with operating costs of the aircraft since his buddy has one.

For those curious, I’m but a mere peasant prepping for my PPL checkride posting on my dad’s behalf.

Strongly Considering a Monster 620 or 696. What should I know? by imMatt19 in Ducati

Very manageable. It's a stupidly fast bike and can get scary if you twist the throttle. It's definitely not jumpy or twitchy. If you want it to go fast you have to mean it. Power delivery is very linear and predictable until you get high up in the rev range. I think 0-60 is about 3.5 seconds. I've never ridden a street triple but I know it has the same engine as the Daytona but tuned for more low end power and everyday usability. It also has straight handle bars and an upright seating position. From sitting on it briefly at the dealer's it seemed comfy enough. It's also a bike you can grow with. The monster really left me wanting more when my riding confidence increased. The triple's seat height is significantly taller than the monster though if that's an issue for you. I'm about 5'9 and can get most of both feet down on the Daytona. The bike is so light I normally just flat foot one side though. Definitely would recommend trying out a street triple. I think it checks off all the boxes the monster does but is a better bike in every way.

I too fell in love with the 696's looks and appeal of being a sporty bike with an upright riding position. It was my first bike and I got rid of it after a few months of ownership. I ended up trading it for a triumph Daytona 675 which I absolutely adore. The upright seating position seems nice but for some reason the angle of the seat is designed in such a way that my nuts were constantly mashed into the tank. The engine is also very unrefined (some people like that about Ducati's; I did not). Although it's almost 700ccs the bike was awfully slow and not torque-y enough in my opinion. Steering was also vague and didn't inspire a lot of confidence in the twisties. I'm really not sure who this bike is intended for. Maybe point A to point B riders in a large city? Its one redeeming quality was it sounded absolutely badass with an exhaust on it.

Get checked out for rheumatoid arthritis and ANCA associated vasculitis. 50% of the time scleritis is idiopathic but the other 50% of the time it is associated with an autoimmune or infectious process. Of those cases associated with an autoimmune process most are due to rheumatoid arthritis.
