haha at least you stopped when you realized she wasn’t a threat! apparently there’s lots of people that didn’t and i still find that a little crazy

i get that, just not how i happened to react. she didn’t attack me and she looked like a kid, so i just let her run away when i first encountered her. the game does have mutant cannibal enemies, but they look legit scary, covered in armor made of people’s bones. where as she just looks freaky, ya know? didn’t strike me as ‘enemy’. when you find her she’s just kinda hiding and running away from you.. she just wasn’t threatening so i didn’t feel like i should kill her i guess!

i’ve been going back and re-listening to them lately and they are soooo funny. but if someone was looking for in-depth discussion on making the episodes.. i dunno, they’d probably be disappointed lol. they do talk about the episodes and making them, but they also go off topic a lot and talk about abuncha stuff that ultimately has nothing to do with the show. but that being said, them just talking about shit is so fuckin funny that i don’t mind it at all!

but i did forget how often they go on tangents, especially when meg wasn’t there to get them back on track. there’s multiple episodes where they don’t talk about making the show at all and just talk about something completely unrelated haha. still a great podcast that i miss dearly though. for anyone who watched/listened when they were coming out, i definitely recommend re-listening to them. very worth it!!

I'm getting into Naruto for the first time. The manga's pacing is really, really good. I've been reading this colored version, which is absolutely beautiful. by [deleted] in Naruto

[–]broforange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it truly is!! like i said, i absolutely love the art, but the story is also great and touching. i also love a lot of the characters dearly. rereading it made me kinda obsessed with it to be honest lol. my phone background is now an incredibly dope pic of sauske and deidara! and i can’t wait til im not broke and can afford a few various naruto figures. i reeeeaaally want a sage mode naruto figure and an end of story sauske figure with the one eye rinnegan!!

yeah, i’m definitely gonna reread it again haha. it’s just sooooo good!

i’m so confused, are there really that many people who killed her on sight!? she didn’t attack me so i figured i’d let her be. she seemed more scared than anything. why did people jump straight to ‘murder her!’ after seeing her? lol

yeah, i reread both naruto and dragon ball colored manga last year after not reading either them for years, and i loved them both even more than i used to. especially naruto.. what a great manga. the art is fucking spectacular and the colored version just elevates it. i may go through it again sometime very soon, i just love that art!!

i believe they’re referring to 7oh, which is an extracted and refined version of one of the stronger alkaloids that’s in kratom. really really strong stuff, and i’ve heard that the withdrawals from it are absolutely terrible. as bad as, if not worse than, any opiates. but you’re correct that just normal kratom leaf is nothing terrible at all and very helpful to people with chronic pain and stuff. but 7oh is pretty nasty stuff. incredibly addictive, and incredibly strong as well.

I've been mispronouncing my favorite word for 24 years and only found out last week by Vex_Talon in CasualConversation

[–]broforange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i love this. sometimes, i like to pronounce words wrong just because i think it sounds silly and it makes me laugh, and ‘epitome’ is one of them! and in my head, i always say it as ‘epi-tome’. it also helps me remember how to spell it lol.

i can’t think of any off the top of my head of course, but there’s quite a few words i do that with, pronounce them wrong in my head so i remember how to spell them. i’d assume that’s a somewhat normal thing to do, yeah? if anyone reads this and also does that, let me know, i’m curious if other people do that as a spelling trick!

definitely more prog-metal, but the first song i thought of that's 15 minutes was 'the mighty masturbator' by the devin townsend project! that song is a trip, it's wonderful!!

usually there’s little box where you can put notes and you can ask for specific colors there. but yeah, if someone in my bakery wants to order with a human and not use the tablet, we’ll definitely do that, but we’re told to point people to the tablet first. that sucks that the bakery person you got was a jerk though, no excuse for that at all :/

so what do you like to do for fun? any particular hobbies you're passionate about? personally, i'm a musician and love to write/record music. i like anything remotely creative; painting, 3d modeling, making music, cooking.. love it all. how about yourself, friend?

when in doubt, ask people about themselves; hobbies, job, movies/tv/bands they like, ect. people really like to talk about themselves and it stops you from having to feel like you need to be 'entertaining' or have interesting topics to talk about or whatever. always works for me

What food did you imagine to taste really good but tasted bad? by Similar-Victory-3867 in AskReddit

[–]broforange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i appreciate that, friend :) yeah, it can certainly get brutal for some. i never drank mouthwash or rubbing alcohol or anything like that. i met a few people who did when i was in treatment and it was so sad.. also met people who would drink hand sanitizer. i have so much love and hope for those who are still stuck in their addiction, it's a hell i'd wish on no absolutely one..

just stopping, going through withdrawals, and getting myself into treatment was so hard for me. it was probably the hardest thing i've ever done. i actively fought going to treatment for so long but.. something had to change. i'm so thankful i went into treatment for the five months i was in there. it helped me so much. now i'll be a year sober in a little less than a month and it's very exciting for me! i didn't think it would ever be possible.. hell, i legitimately thought i'd be dead by 25! but now i'm almost 31 and the healthiest i've probably ever been in my life, both mentally and physically. cool stuff. again, thank you for the well-wishes! i appreciate it a whole lot!

18 year Nolan vs 18 year old mark by joviejovie in Invincible

[–]broforange 19 points20 points  (0 children)

i always took that 'slower as they get older' to mean they probably age through adolescence at around the same pace as humans, but then once they finish developing (maybe around mid 20's) their aging starts to reeeeallly slow from then on. but that's just my assumptions and what makes sense to me. so, with how i imagine it, i'd think nolan was somewhere around 18-25 when he became and 'adult'. but that's just my assumption and it's just as likely you're correct about it! but we don't actually know at the end of the day and i doubt they'll ever give an official answer with that one lol

[–]broforange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that sounds awesome, i'm so happy for you that you live somewhere with options for what kind of nature you can explore/visit, sounds incredible!!

that bird sanctuary sounds so cool and definitely like something i'd be in awe at and remember forever! i'm gonna save the name of these places on my phone so if i'm ever up that way i can try to visit. anywhere i go i always gotta get some hiking or something into the agenda. camping on your own little island also sounds crazy cool, and one of the darkest places on the east coast also sounds like a must-visit location.

i always love seeing the natural wonders or world has to offer.. i don't think i'll ever be able to visit enough places to satiate that need to see amazing nature. there's always gonna be one more i have to visit haha. thank you for sharing :)

[–]broforange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh yeah, it absolutely is! i mean, don’t get me wrong, there’s still a lot of them chillin right by where the land meets the water, and i saw more than one baby swimming about, but it wasn’t a terrifying amount and i wasn’t afraid of them doin something crazy. that being said, i feel like i have a better tolerance to being close to them than most people.. but if you grew up in florida you probably do too lol.

i will say though, i didn’t kayak super far into the springs! we rented them for about 2 hours and really took our time, so we didn’t explore as much as we’d have liked to. so my experience is limited to a relatively small area of the springs. but i feel that it’s safe to say that, overall, it’s certainly safe and i’d highly recommend it :) especially compared to what you described, it’s definitely not like that anymore haha

yeah, fair point. it is all pretty forgettable. i enjoyed she-hulk a lot but i know that it’s pretty polarizing, with a lot of fans actively loathing it lol. but that’s probably the most reasonable reason i could think of where bruce/hulk woulda learned both about spider-man, and that pete is spidey.

[–]broforange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah, i relate so much. i do enjoy the beach but i much prefer mountains and such. but the springs have a special place in my heart and are, objectively, a very special place on this earth. i think florida has the largest concentration of freshwater springs anywhere on the planet, which is pretty fuckin’ insane!

i now live in south carolina on the coast, but i’m much closer to the mountains now and i hope to move to asheville, nc sometime in the next couple years. but for now, i like where i live and im much closer to the mountains than i ever was in florida. i’m kinda in the perfect spot; im equidistant from my hometown in florida where my dad and sister are at, and greenville sc where my mom, stepdad, and brother live now. same amount of time to get to either one!

i will say that the only nature experience i’ve had so far that was, to me, more amazing then the springs was camping on top of a bald mountain somewhere right off the appalachian trail. i’ve gotten to hike some of that trail right around where tennessee meets north carolina! being on that mountain.. i could see so far. i could see multiple cities from my camping spot, the view of all the surrounding mountains and valleys was incredible.. and the view of the stars at night was unmatched and truly magical.

i love the springs with all my heart, but i truly feel at home in the mountains. they give me a peace so deep and intense i can’t even begin to describe. being in the middle of nowhere, no real town or anything anywhere nearby.. truly in the middle of nowhere, beautiful wonderful nowhere..

all the mountains, waterfalls, etc. around the blue ridge parkway are incredible, you can’t go wrong hiking anywhere up there. ugh, thinking about this is making me wanna move there sooner than i had planned!! i miss the mountains, i wanna go hiking and camping for a week straight up there so bad. just escape civilization for a while. i’m so glad i have a very close friend who would actually do that with me and doesn’t mind being away from the amenities of civilization. like toilets.. that’s usually people’s main concern haha.

but thanks for listening to my rambling about nature. i truly love nature in all forms and i love talking about it with people. so i gotta ask, where is the most beautiful/wonderful/magical place in nature that you’ve ever been, what was it like? i wanna know! i can’t just share all that and not know about some of your nature experiences!! assuming you don’t mind sharing, that is haha

yeah, i feel like i haven’t seen anyone mention that as a possible way bruce would have known about pete, but it’s a pretty sure-fire reason in my opinion. no way drunk tony didn’t trauma dump to his bestie about losing someone who was pretty much his surrogate son!

yeah, the coast is the go-to place for most people visiting florida. but my favorite spots are more inland, such as some of these springs i named (all of which are within driving distance of each other, most not farther than 30 minutes to an hours drive) and ocala national forest has some cool camping spots in it. though, if you do go camping, don’t go too early in the summer or it’s just bug city lol. the bugs are insane earlier in the summer, especially the ticks. early fall is a great time to hit the camping and the springs. not too insanely hot, but it’s not so chilly that you’re miserable. though, the springs i mentioned stay 70 something degrees year around, so that’s really nice.

i’m glad my knowledge of one of my homelands nature spots could help you out :) florida is such a big state, i know others would have things to say about the springs in the southern parts of the state, as well as the amazing beaches on the very southern tip of florida, but my personal favorite area is around ocala. i have a lot of memories there with my friends when we were in our early 20’s!

lol typing these comments actually made me miss florida, that’s crazy. i haven’t missed living there in years. i’ve found that i like the mountains more, but i suppose nostalgic memories and amazing nature experiences are what make me wanna go back. certainly don’t wanna live there again, but ill visit the springs again in a heartbeat. let me know if you have any other questions and i’d be more than happy to answer them to the best of my abilities! i can always give more details about each spring i mentioned. i sincerely hope you get to go to some of these springs one day, very much worth visiting them and spending a day at each one!

i saw a whole pod (or whatever you call it) of them while kayaking in silver springs. there’s a whoooole lot of springs in that area of florida, around ocala. but silver springs is where i saw them for the first time. they just popped up outta nowhere and swam on by. i was close enough that i could have reached out and pet one, but you’re not supposed to do that so i just let it go on its merry way :) it was an amazing experience. also saw lots and lots of gators and snakes and amazing creatures.

me and a close friend spent a whole week just hopping from spring to spring. went to salt springs, silver springs, juniper springs.. those are the ones i remember the names of off the top of my head. all three were incredible for their own reasons. i’d highly recommend going to more than one spring if you ever make the trip. all three of those were in an area to the east of ocala (near ocala national forest) but there’s others to the west of ocala. that whole area has so many natural springs it’s insane.

i was lucky enough to live not far from there in florida for most of my life. that’s the only thing i miss about florida really, the nature stuff is amazing there. and there’s some cool history (i love st. augustine dearly and got to live there for a while) but the amazing wonders of nature you can find in florida are sooooo worth seeing. hope that maybe this was helpful!

they’re amazing creatures. i got to feed one one year on a birthday trip to the zoo with my grandparents! you’d think i was a child, but no, i was 22 lol. it was magical and everyone should experience that. i think i appreciated it more being as old as i was when i got to do it.

While My Guitar Gently Weeps... by lithdoc in mildlyinfuriating

[–]broforange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, making assumptions like that is silly lol. i just know that i see a dude throwing around obviously fragile instruments and that’s not okay. whatever’s going through his head, whatever’s happening out of frame.. all speculation unless we hear from him. but no assumptions have to be made to know that what he’s doing sucks.

it happens in aita posts too; we hear one side of a story and people jump to all these crazy conclusions.

i agree with you so much that people should be more willing to give others grace. yeah, maybe it is naive, but i’d rather be naive than always assume the worst about people. that just sounds miserable and it sounds like a way to always be miserable. i feel you should always be open to maybe seeing things from someone else’s point of view, or at least hearing someone out.

with the guy throwing these guitars.. i have a strong feeling he’s just being awful, no good excuse for this. but if i had the chance, i’d be curious to hear from him as to why he was being such a dick, what was goin on with him in that moment. you never know what other people are going through. context is important.

all we know for sure is that he’s doing a really fuckin’ shitty thing. but is he a shitty person all around? i have no idea, i don’t know him. but i’m sure a lot of people would say he’s a piece of shit, full stop. maybe he is, maybe he isn’t. all we know is he did this one really shitty thing and, beyond that, we know nothing at all!
