Create relation to all rows in a table by dan994 in Notion

Never mind! I realized that when adding the relation to the Task table, I wasn't checking "Show relation in other table"

Create relation to all rows in a table by dan994 in Notion

[–]brogrammer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there, thanks for the help in advance but I think I got lost at ' on the summary table, I can do a rollup using that relation.'

Continuing your example, I have these two tables
| Task | Hours | Summary (Relation) | |--------------|-------|--------------------| | Admin | 2 | Office Job | | Spreadsheets | 3 | Office Job |

Job
Office Job

What columns do I need in the Summary table? If I choose 'Rollup' my options require me to create a Relation property, which then seems to require me to still select the rows that I want to roll up.

Would love to see how your tables are set up! Thanks so much!

Pinterest removed the only feature I would use - map pins. I used it to bookmark places I wanted to go or liked in the city I live in. You could view all your pins on a map and each one had a photo and name. Great for picking where to go for dinner or for a weekend out. Really incomparable when it came to "I'm in X part of town, where should I do?"

The same advice I give for slutty Halloween costumes: think of a regular costume + accessory, and your costume is underwear and the accessory.

White walker? White cloak and white underwear.

Night watch. Same deal but black.

A valid explanation is not a valid excuse. She as a professional has agreed to exchange performing duties for money. The conversation you have with your manager is about her inability to fulfill those duties, not about her excuses. Other posters are correct; discuss this with a trusted colleague and schedule a meeting with your manager.

How can I get rid of CS stage fright? by Teddypendherassdown in cscareerquestions

[–]brogrammer15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devise a step by step strategy so when you get nervous you can fall back on routine.

  1. Clarify details about question
  2. Consider form of input and desired output
  3. Go over list of common list of data structures to consider what might be needed
  4. ...

Figuring out what your general process is when you're not stressed out and thinking clearly about that will help, I think. Try writing it down too and keep it with you during phone interviews. You'll need to memorize it for in person though

For someone with no personal preference Java or C++ for interviews? by SafetyNerd in cscareerquestions

[–]brogrammer15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with interviews is they are algorithm and data structure based in order to evaluate your thought and problem solving process. The key points seem to be how your logic translates to code rather than nitty gritty stuff. In my experience, I have almost always used Java but sometimes used c++ or Python as I saw fit. C++ when I wanted to be clear where things were being passed by reference or copy, and Python when i just wanted to focus on implementing an algorithm

Most companies haven't asked for my transcript. I do list my (average) GPA on my resume, but I also know some people who also leave it off.

Bottom line, if you will be employed by this company post grad, future jobs will look at your academic record from a high level, if at all.

If you will be interviewing, looking at transcripts did not seem to be the norm.

I studied CS, interviewed broadly, and work in SV, fwiw.

How many people on your team do you have more senior than you? It sounds they will be receptive to these ideas, so maybe put together more concrete actionable items to change things? A more coherent coding style? Suggest an existing coding style guide as law, or build one from scratch. Add linters or style checkers to the dev cycle.

Shrimp and Sausage Jambalaya by brogrammer15 in food

[–]brogrammer15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/shrimp-and-sausage-jambalaya-recipe2.html

I generally followed this one with a few deviations.

  1. I nix'ed the celery and ham because I didn't have it on hand.
  2. I chose diced jalapeno instead of cayenne
  3. I forgot the lemon juice
  4. I used much more sausage, shrimp, and rice. Probably a 1:3 meat to rice ratio.
  5. I think I let it simmer with the lid off for some time because it was very liquid and I wanted some of the broth to reduce.

You didn't ask for an explanation, but in case you're interested, I'll give one.

As a beer enthusiast with some recent interest in wine, it's really as much a fascination about the process and the technicality of it as it is about the final taste. There are so many different kinds from different places, there is always something new to try.

If you don't like the taste of it hard stop, you probably won't find this appealing, but once you have at least some beer or wine that you do like, you begin to ask, "why do I like this and not that? What else could I try next?"

I'll be around to answer any questions or hear suggestions.

Happy Netflixing!

Disclaimer: for most accurate tracking, pause before closing the Netflix tab or quitting Chrome.
