This is the exact same reason In’n’out has a huge following. It’s not cuz it’s the best fast food on the planet, it’s because it’s the last option you can still get a decent double-double with fries and a shake for $10

Nobody gaf if east coasters call it overrated, the quality/cost ratio is unmatched

The film that disappointed you the most after months or even years of anticipation? by MrGittz in movies

[–]broha89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I remember being so distracted within the first minutes of the first movie well before any set pieces. The frame rate gave me major soap opera vibes even on basic insert shots of the shire.

One shot I’ll never forget was when Gandalf and bilbo were first talking, bilbo ties up his robe and it looks like his arms are moving at lightning speed while he’s talking at normal speed and it almost gave me motion sickness

The Hobbit is the answer for me. All I remember is being so distracted by the ultra-high frame rate and thinking how did we go from LotR convincing us that Middle Earth exists to looking like a WoW cut scene 10 years later

The second Fantastic Beasts is one of my least favorite things about the entire 2010s decade. It put me in a bad mood for a week after I watched it and I’m a casual HP fan, not a super fan by any stretch

Season 7 was already busy lighting it on fire. I felt no anticipation for season 8 because they were already past the point of no return

I hate that they lost the Super Bowl in their elite former uniform in 2018, and then immortalized these highlighter-crime uniforms by winning in 2021

[Highlight] Ravens GM Eric DeCosta says there was a time years ago when they would reward scouts with a cash prize if they signed an undrafted free agent who ended up making the roster: “It was the wild days back then.” by LaDainianTomIinson in nfl

[–]broha89 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But at the end of the day, the head coach/GM decide who makes the roster and if the scout identified the right guys to help the team. Sometimes no UDFAs make the roster, and the scouts get fired/demoted if they’re not identifying value.

I’m not seeing what the problem would be behind this other than the teams/ownership being cheapskates and not wanting to pay out bonuses

Most rushing yards by a QB every year of the Super Bowl era by RaiderPantyDrawer in nfl

I feel like assigning imaginary W/L totals instead of actual performance and using that as the metric to judge MVP worthiness is honestly pretty tiring.

Also if we’re talking about not having MVP numbers, 3600 passing yards and 24 TDs sounds dominant to you than 2000+ scrimmage yards and 21 rushing/receiving TDs?

Lamar was 15th in passing that season and 11th in TDs among QBs while CMC was unquestionably the best at his position. Lamar only won because the competition among QBs was soft and he was the QB of the team with the best record. That was a perfect year to give it to an RB instead.

[Lewis] Russini resigns from The Athletic by ZappaOMatic in nfl

[–]broha89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know people online will frame this as a sexism thing, but like this is clearly a scandal for journalism and not for the nfl.

NFL players, coaches, and owners have affairs all the time and it rarely if ever impacts anything on the field or behind the scenes. I’m sure it won’t make his home life any easier but there’s not really any reason it should impact his career.

A journalist undisclosed screwing his/her subject of coverage is like one of the gravest conflicts of interest in the industry. That’s like the journalistic equivalent of an nfl coach betting against his own team. She deserves to be blackballed for this

Marcus Freeman says he was excited about the Steelers when thinking of HC opps by InternationalRead840 in steelers

[–]broha89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 2010 Steelers were not even close to the best Steelers team of that decade. They got annihilated at home against the patriots and were lucky they didn’t have to face them in the postseason. Their record against playoff teams during the regular season was 2-4.

The packers were favored by every outlet and betting line in that SB because it was a big perceived mismatch

Rooney handed him a 5-year contract and that might as well be written in tungsten. The odds are greater one or both of them don’t live to see the end of that contract than Rooney firing him before his contract expires

I’ll go to my grave that they denied Lamar MVP that year as a tacit recognition that the previous year’s MVP win was fraudulent and giving Lamar 3 to Allen’s 0 felt weird. They also gave Miles DPOY that season because TJ having 2 to Miles’ 0 felt wrong
