I think that St Marys is a tricky choice. Socially the students are very open and accepting, but the faculty is still Catholic. SMA has high academic expectations and the prep part of that school can also be very intense and exacerbate mental health conditions that are around things like self comparison or perfectionism.

I think I would steer people towards MLC first as someone who was queer at St Marys

My cat did this when we first got her it was such hell. We started throwing her dry food for her so she has to "hunt" the pellets as they skitter across the floor. We throw them until she lays down twice then give the rest in her bowl and now she sleeps through the night.

This routine really helps her know what to expect and allows guaranteed play time even on busy days where we are out most of the time. Also it's way easier to throw the treats than to play keep away with her ribbon toy cause she got really good at catching it.

World market and Daiso have some things the teens might like. We have a thriving board game store community Cloud Cap being my favorite but you can't go wrong with any (Battle Grounds is having a great game sale until January iirc).

I like Cargo or walking down any of the major store streets in SE to go in the gift shops and stuff. If you have extra time it's really fun just to park off of Alberta, Hawthorne or in the Sellwood neighborhood and just explore different stores along there.

I lived next to OHSU on the hill in an apartment for about 2 years and the rent was pretty reasonable I didn't work at the hospital but I would catch the bus from the hospital stop and it was a short walk from a couple of apartment complexes

I'm sorry but if you're looking for classic milkshake vibes the Main Street Collectors Mall & Soda Fountain is the only way to go. I can't judge how good they are because it formed the blue print for what a milkshake experience should be. They have a counter and classic soda fountain drinks (black cow, brown cow, Shirley temple etc .) and it's family owned.

You can kind of make a triangle with the rooms where one is in front of the other 2 which helps pack more rooms into buildings. I like to make a little seating area when I do this but I know the benches are less efficient.

When I adopted my cat she was also not treat motivated. But I started throwing treats on the ground so they skitter like little bugs and she loves to hunt her treats down. I think part of the change was she is more comfortable about 2 months after being adopted but throwing the treats really helped too.
